EU is a guarantor to Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

IMO Guarantorship should be the last topic to be discussed. It's like trying to reach a business deal but emphasizing on the future negative implications should one side not comply, showing signs of ill intent on both sides.

good point umit...

how was the trip?...back yet?

It is better to discuss this right now as this is definitely one of the show stoppers to a solution.

But why waste our President's time agreeing to issues that don't matter much, only to fall down at the final hurdles? :?

I bet most of the GC's read President Talat's interview which is published in Simerini News paper.

He said very simple:

Many times EU took a side from GC's side. Thats why Turkish Cypriots does not trust the EU. Turkish Cypriots does not trust others guarantees than others .
It is very straight he says if there is no actions against the Turkish Cypriots or bloodshed why u are scaring Turkish quarantees. There will be no such a things why u are worring .Guarantees are only for Turkish Cypriots to feel comortable ...............

here is the Turkish translation from Greek .

see he is feeding the chooks again...

if the island gets united as a one country then the EU will be on the side of all cypriots...

remember the rule of law, something unheard off in the north...especially with the cyprus turks...and especially in the mass land, turkey, north of cyprus...

unless ofcourse you have a sinister mind and you do not like the rule of law...

Can talat tell us where in the treaty of gaurantee does it say that Turkey can occupy 1/3 of the island and call it a separate country?

If Turkey followed the agreements it signed then the GC's might have been a little warmer to trusting that country's intentions.

We don't care what Talat is saying...

Cyprus is independent and as such will not accept any Guarantees.
