Twenty-three guys were caught in the UK betting shop two years ago and every time they go to court, the case gets postponed for two or three months because some of the 23 are missing. Excuses range from being on holiday, one working in Paphos installing air conditioning and several more with health-related excuses.
They all plead not guilty and just using the betting shop as their local cafe, only three are still working full-time and the rest are pensioners and they are all very friendly with the judge and on good terms as over the two years they have got used to each other. My husband and his brother are among the number and don't seem too worried about the outcome.
Annaka.
If they were english they would of been given 85,000 euro fine (EACH) and been sentenced, the judge, the police, the solicitor would of all their heads together like a german porm star with a chav moustach and said "oooh yar good english, lets have their pants down"!!!!!
Do I detect a slight touch of resentment regarding the way you have been treated in Cyprus?
After 35 years here, the only thing I can find to complain about is whinging Brits!
Absolutely CBBB, in this particular case (which you have commented on) I wonder if the author is aware of the fact that the attitude which he/she so disparagingly describes, is precisely what one would expect from the 'Brits' when they administer their warped sense of justice to those of other nations.
Fact is, they most probably were the first to instigate such attitudes as a result of their seemingly misguided opinion that they are better than anyone else, particularly if the poor recipient of their 'Justice' is unable to speak/write/understand their concocted language.
we are all entitled to an opiniun, HELLOOO its a forum right!!!!
