Hi,
I am moving to Cyprus next year with my family and am looking to set up a football acadamy for young ex-pat kids,I am an F.A qualified level 2 coach. Is this in demand,, I intend to cover all areas of Cyprus and cover ages 6-14

If you are talking just for British expats then there might be some demand but I don't think there is a big enough market for a Cyprus wide operation. Most expats to Cyprus are retirees. Maybe you should start in just one city where there is the biggest demand and market it for all kids, not just expats.

Think Sotos is right - it's pointless islandwide. Paphos is probably your place to start something and possibly Limassol.

Good luck Gaz

thanks for the advice,, it would be part time to start with anyway so maybe targeting one area would be a good idea,, can't wait to get there to be honest,, just need a little more saving time

I was also thinking about approaching hotels /holiday reps and offering a service to them for kids on holiday, is this a hard market to break into,, having been on holiday to cyprus a number of times I have not come across any soccer camps or days for holiday makers.

Cheers z4,
what do you mean by what am i trying to achieve,, I am looking into the demand for football clubs, coaching facilities for young kids aged 6-14, I am level2 F.A. qualified coach and am heavily involved with my sons club here in England.
I am looking to start off a small soccer acadamy when we get there as a secondary business and also to get involved in the communities if the demand is there.
I am not looking for the next rooney or ronaldo just fun for the kids

Ah ok Gaz...

Where is all this going to happen?

Approaching the hotels/reps is a good idea but you will probably need to start off with the smaller hotels/small tour operators to start with.

O.k.MATE,,, thanks,,, I was looking to moving to Limmisol and would probably looking to start the club there, but as for approaching hotels ,,not sure yet,,maybe protaras area. I dont know what kind of facilities are available as regards to pitches etc,, i'm guessing its not like england where there are countless numbers of pretty greenfields you can set up on, so any feedback as to pitch facilities would be greatly appreciated,
