Do you think I stand a chance of getting the job?

Can you imagine Captain Paphitis of Turkish Airlines Midnight Express Flight 666 to a place that officially does not exist?

It would make an excellent Crew Resource Management (CRM) case study no doubt, just like KLM 4805 in Tenerife.

How do you think the dialogue would go?

I love how they use the term "Commander" in their advert for Pilots. Its a term I have not heard of before and is rather authoritarian and against good CRM or shallow command gradient principles. KLM in Tenerife rings a bell!

Paphitis and pilot is enough to scare the passengers (I mean a pilot from Paphos). No need to refer to midnight express flight etc- the birthplace of the pilot would be enough!!!!!

I know a CyAir Paphian pilot. Chances are you were one of his passengers in the past.

Personal note to Paphitis: Tell CyAir to look out for Epsilon on all flights. If on board, then create Pilot Induced Turbulence....

It does give it that "superior authoritarian" feel to it, just as the case you mentioned with the Captain of the KLM crash with Pan Am in Tenerife. I would not be surprised if most of the Turkish Airlines crashes in the past would not have been avoided if the Turkish Airline’s Captains (Commanders) were not seen by their co-pilots as "do not question your commander, just follow orders" attitude, even when the co-pilots could see mistakes being made by their "Commander".! Very dangerous in the cockpit of any airliner with such attitudes, no doubt.!

Absolutely! The KLM/Panam Air Disaster would have been avoided if the Captain had listened to his Flight Engineer's query and uneasiness. 583 people killed due to pilot ego.

The only place that would use such terminology, and for good reason, is the Military. Hence the reason why Military Pilots need to be retrained into a civilian capacity. CRM was introduced specifically to help Military Pilots make this transition to a multi crew environment.
