I tried to ignore the fact that you introduced Greece into a conversation about Iran and then ask me what compels me to jump to their defense!!(which I wasn't but must admit I'm getting a little frustrated when everything we start debating ends up into a Greece slamming session.) Not that I have a problem with Greece being slammed, just that this is a thread about Iran and here we are talking about Greece again.

I'm gonna have to open up a thread about "carpentry in early 16th century Bavaria" and watch how we direct that one towards Greece as well.

Once again, Iran who is ran by clerics and its assembly of experts can appoint the top job of Supreme Leader is not a democracy.

Where did you see the democracy in Iran? And feel free to compare to Greece if you like

1. The election was rigged.
2. The demonstrators are demonstrating for “democracy”.
3. The second placed candidate was proposing democracy!
4. The demonstrators are of any significant number out of Iran’s 70m population!

Screw the elections and it seems you're not up to speed with current affairs these days. Switch that channel off from the history channel and watch the news a little. There's a huge wave of demo's going on in Iran that are more than demo's in favour of one candidate. They're snowballing into calls for a democratic govt.
