If it has turkish people in it that simply illegally occupy this land, well shooting them down wont spoil my day, ill tell you that.

Hello "theunifier" and welcome. :D

Being a newbie, it's easy to make mistakes. But, the usual protocol is to post something vaguely relating to the opening thread topic, or in direct response to another post.

Lateral thinking is encouraged but I cannot for the life of me connect your comments with anything on this thread.

But, for all it's worth, shooting of any aircraft, unless it is openly intent on aggression, is wrong. :)

Tell it also to the Russians (KAL 655, KAL 902), and to the US Navy (IR 655)

I think Paphitis also holds the rational view of not shooting down aircraft unless they are openly intent on aggression ....

Ok in an idealistic world I wouldn't shoot down a plane either. It's not like I have a hate issue with the Turks, I just want them off my land end of story :)

But maybe I wouldn't shoot them down... rational enough for me too ?

Erdogan is using a special language that European Politicians are fluent in and known to most of us as bollox. Eu politicians used this language when addressing Turkeys Eu bid or even addressing Turkish Cypriots.
I guess Erdogan was just being polite and neighbourly when using this language. Basically what he is saying to the Eu in a language he knows they all understand is:

There is jack all chance of the peace in Cyprus until The Cypriots want it. So if you lot want to get your hands on, and make billions and billions out of Turkeys natural resources, you better come up with something else.

Or perhaps the EU is saying: "if you want to make billions and billions by having access to EU markets and capital, find a way to solve the Cyprus problem, preferrebly by first removing 40,000 troops stationed in Cyprus.

... I take it this is another demonstration of what you suggest he does best; talking "bollox" ...
