Turkish Cypriots disappear from Cyprus TV

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE 22.JUN.09
The use of the nouns “Turkish Cypriot” and “Turkish Cypriots” has been banned on all programs broadcast by "state run" Bayrak Television network in northern Cyprus.

In the place of “Turkish Cypriot” the term “Turk of Cyprus”, will be used.

According to the Yeni Duzen newspaper, the director of Bayrak, Ozer Kanli, confirmed the bizarre decision.

“The expression Turkish Cypriots describe the persons who were born in Cyprus. But it does not include our compatriots who came to our island after 1974.

“The expression ‘Turk of Cyprus’ includes both the Turkish Cypriots and the Turks who came later to Cyprus and has a broader meaning.

"The term 'Turkish Cypriots' was used by foreigners. This expression started to be used during the latest period and such an expression never existed in Bayrak’s history,” he said.

According to Yenı Duzen, before 2004 the use of terms such as “Cypriots” and “Turkish Cypriots”, which were used by the “Platform this Country is Ours”, were forbidden by the “government” of the National Unity Party

...and were the Tcs asked if they want to be called Turks of Cyprus?
Tcs are forced to be deprived of their identity, how are they going to react?

Well I thing is time for all G/cs , including their government to take the big decition.Despite propaganta saying all negatives about "TAKSIM" wew must acknowledge that finally Denktash suceeded and created his dream.Personally i believe that despite the propaganta of fear TAKSIM under the circumstances is the best solution for G/cs.

Otherwise if we stuck in old motion target of united Cyprus we will resulted a Turkish control over all Cyprus-sorry i have to interupt since i have something urgent to do- maybe i will come very soon back on this

Until the next vote, United Cyprus is what we strive for, if that fails then certain realities have to be faced.

Ok i will give a reason- only one-for my above post.
My son -he was 16 that time, was learned several things about Cyprus problem by me, visited Cyprus at that age and he asked me to make a small investigation of what actually G/cs think about the certain problem. We visited more than 10 old coffe shops in free Cyprus and we asked several old G/cs what they think about a fair solution .
My son's conclusion was that the 95 per cent of old Cypriots were of the opinion aa) do not disturb us about Cyprus problem since we are playing tavli.!! bb) aytoi potzi tzie emeis poda ( they have to stay North and we have to stay South-separatetly).All other malakies (worldwide word) are for politicians.

Renaming them "Turks occupying Cyprus" would be more accurate ....
