EROGLU ANNOUNCES NEW ECONOMIC MEASURES FOR TRNC

Postby halil » Sat Jun 20, 2009 9:50 pm

Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu held a press conference to announce that his government would continue to work on developing an economic rescue plan for the Republic. All ministers were present at the press conference which was held at the Foreign Ministry’s Conference Hall.

Addressing the most pressing issue of our times, Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu said that for the TRNC’s economy to be revived there was a need for an expanding economic policy.
‘And for this to happen we need a new tax packet that includes the majority of the people to come into affect’, he said.

Pointing to the importance of increasing employment opportunities in the private sector, the Prime minister said the private sector must be supported so it can develop further.
Also touching upon his concerns on the Cyprus issue, Prime Minister Eroglu noted that the Greek Cypriot administration was continuing its intransigent stance on the Cyprus issue.

‘We are very embarrassed that the Greek Cypriot administration is being accepted as the only legal government in Cyprus by the United States, Britain, Russia, China and the European Unions’, said Eroglu.

‘Now the Greek Cypriot Administration is using this situation to give permission for researches to be carried out for natural gas and petrol. This behavior of ignoring international law is negatively affecting the negotiations process in Cyprus’, he added.

The Prime Minister said his government is determined to continue its stance on the Cyprus issue in harmony with President Talat and Motherland Turkey.

‘Our parameters are clear; there are two peoples in Cyprus and two states. Due to this fact we want a new partnership to be established based on equal sovereignty, bizonality should not be diluted and Turkey’s active and effective guarantees over the island should be safeguarded’, said Eroglu.

He stressed that we continue to support the negotiations process with good will but this does not mean that we will give up our rights and interests.

He concluded by saying that ‘we cannot wait forever for the Greek Cypriot side, we want our people to be sure of their future. Either the ongoing negotiations process brings a positive and balanced outcome and a viable solution is found, or everyone goes on their way.

NOT TOO HOPEFUL THAT A SOLUTION WILL BE FOUND TO THE CYPRUS PROBLEM

The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Koksal Toptan has said that he is not too hopeful that a solution will be found to the Cyprus Problem.

Evaluating his recent visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on a live broadcast on a Turkish television Station Mr. Toptan said Turkey continues to support a solution being found in Cyprus.

He said Turkey sincerely supported a solution being found in Cyprus and made this clear at every opportunity.

‘The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had made its intentions towards a solution clear by fully backing the UN sponsored peace plan known as the Annan Plan’, he added.

Toptan said both President Mehmet Ali Talat and Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu were doing everything in their power to find a solution to the Cyprus problem.

Noting that both Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have made clear their sine-quo-non’s during the negotiations process, Mr. Toptan said ‘once two separate states, two separate peoples, two separate sovereignties and two separate legal orders are accepted then everyone will accept the Cyprus state that will be established.

Drawing attention to the fact that the European Union had clogged the way for a solution being found in Cyprus by accepting the unilateral membership of the Greek Cypriot side into the EU, Mr. Toptan said ‘I think the European Union has made a huge mistake by accepting the Greek Cypriot administration and has violated international agreements and treaties by doing so’.

Noting that Turkey had taken a decision to aid the TRNC, the Parliamentary speaker said the Greek Cypriot administration is preventing any aid being made to Northern Cyprus and the European Union isn’t doing anything about this.

‘The EU’s hands are tied. They keep on calling on Turkey to remove its embargoes. But we have our sine-quo-non’s. So what’s going to happen? Hopefully a solution will be agreed on but to be honest with you I’m not too hopeful’, he added.

Referring to a statement made by the leader of the Greek Cypriot Administration in Qatar, that they hoped to assimilate the Turk’s living in North Cyprus in 10 years time, Mr Toptan said ‘they have made their intentions clear and that’s why the Turkish Cypriot side is insisting on its sovereignty, so they don’t relive the nightmares of the past.

No idea mate and even less care.

No one's going anywhere.

This thing is over when the good people of the Republic say it's over not when some fascist Land Thief appointed by the Settlers and Turkey says.

The key to the Prison is with Pres X and Signor Barosso. They''ll let you know when normal service is resumed.

In the meantime my beloved CYs of the future, much reduced, northern Zone, you would do well to pay some attention to European Norms and Values where your futute prosperity and freedom lies, rather than paying heed to this Tnuctish Puppet erroglueee.

Resist the Occupation.

He forgot to mention France, which would then complete the 5 full permanent members of the UNSC.! The EU is just "insult to injury" on top of everything else.!

That’s just your self-consciousness telling you that something is wrong!
So when do you plan relieving yourself from any further embarrassment by ceasing to play games?

‘Now the Greek Cypriot Administration is using this situation to give permission for researches to be carried out for natural gas and petrol. This behavior of ignoring international law is negatively affecting the negotiations process in Cyprus’, he added.

 This puzzling situation is called RECOGNITION thus making it internationally legal for the RoC to give permission to researchers.

The Prime Minister said his government is determined to continue its stance on the Cyprus issue in harmony with President Talat and Motherland Turkey.

I thought you said it's the "other side" that were intransigent? :?

He concluded by saying that ‘we cannot wait forever for the Greek Cypriot side, we want our people to be sure of their future. Either the ongoing negotiations process brings a positive and balanced outcome and a viable solution is found, or everyone goes on their way.

I don't see anyone holding your hand...Turkey is waiting for you with open arms! :D

:? How old did you guys say this Eroglu character is?
