I come from the Larnaca area and am surprised you have not encountered the famous 'Jumping midget Tarantula'. Its bite isnt bad. You only get a rash when you are in its vicinity.About 13 inches is the range of its 'spit'. Its is an USMA. :oops:

At least they dont crawl under your skin like Giant Cypriot Centipedes. These are or were very common in outside toilets. If you see one, run like you have never ran before.

I have seen the jumping ones and l usually beat the hell out of the before they get me. l was bitten by a spider when l was young and l have never really gotten over it.... and no l don't do spider man.
I am now going to feed all the cats in the area :D
