The beautiful white sand one just before Apostolos Andreas Monastery in the Karpas.You can even rent a hut to stay for the night from Hasan and eat at his simple restaurant... a real paradise place and uncommercialised.

Totally agree with you Martin...Golden Beach just before Apostolos Andreas Monastery in Karpas peninsula is by far THE best beach in Cyprus.

The initial question was, which is the best beach in Cyprus? Not which one has a mojito bar on it..
Golden Beach is a natural beach and i hope it stays that way forever..

Not sure of his background bill, all i know the administration (so far) has not allowed any permanent structures to be built in that area so they have these wooden huts erected on poles,they hire to tourists.

If you ask me...tissy or illegal no one should be allowed to profit selling the nature,(which belongs to all of us)

I doubt if he has permission to run any facilities in the area-there was-and maybe still is-another restaurant further along the beach which also rents basic accom.-A german woman was running it when Il ast went there about three years ago?
Hasan is quite friendly but be warned that his place is not that cheap to eat or stay at-on the other hand he has to bring all his supplies a long way and this obviously costs him quite a lot...

I asked whether Hassan was a tissy by the way cos the man would have every right to feed and house his family by legal endeavour but I won't have anything to do with illegalities and bleeding settlers.

The blue lagoon is a natural beauty, got to go by boat though.
After spending most of the summer there last year swimming, we were very shocked to stumble across a local resident holding a large picture of a very large shark which was caught where we had been swimming!!!
