What are your memories from 10-15 years ago?

In my early 20's back here are some of my fond memories:

The Fresh Prince of Bell Air. What an excellent program back then - it's still on Sky now as repeats obviously. Will Smith was great in this. Hilary was a looker to, good days!

The Word with Terry Christian. This was always a really stupid program but quite funny at times. They used to have on the show 'people who would do anything to get on TV' and there were some idiots who used to bathe in baked beans or idiots who used to lie on a bed on pins.

Knight Rider - class! David Hasselyourhoff was just great in this. I think the thought of leaving Kit made him drink!

Big Breakfast with Chris Evans and Gabby Rosilyn (?) Great brekkie TV show and got even better when Kelly Brook presented.

Eldorado - I loved this program. Pretty rubbish story lines but Marcus Tandy and the bloke from Eastenders were funny to watch.

Films like Basic Instinct and Last Boy Scout were out. Bruce Willis was great in Last Boy Scout.

Table tennis - our school were crowned number 3 in England, I was in their squad but never got to play as I was standby!. Loved the sport and played with Desmond Douglas and Malcolm Green (England players)

Ooh ahh Cantona - Eric 'the god' Cantona graced the Old Trafford pitch with his majestic skills.

Playstation 1 was out. Games like Crash Bandicot were around, had some good fun but never completed it.

Amiga and Atari computers.

David Beckham fever hit town

Pints of beer were £2 and 20 cigs was £3

Going to Polis from Paphos on a bloody scooter and getting very burnt - bloody idiot!

Eating at Wimpys and shopping at C&A (very occasionaly I might add!)

Saint and Greavsie hosted a Saturday football show - where have they gone now?

Listening to the Corrs and fancying the two sisiters.

Wearing shirts with white sleeves and collars. Everyone wore shirts with white sleeves and collars, that was the fashion back then!

Thinking Gwen Steffani was actually trying to copy Madonna.

Loving Roger Sanchez 'Another Chance' but thinking the video was stupid

Wearing very powerful bermuda style shorts, OP t-shirts and blue Reebok royales - and still looked cool

Owning a Z3 and thinking I was cool but actual fact I looked like a hair dresser!

Pafos 10 - 15 years ago, 99% less concrete, 99% less cars & lorries.

No Mercedes or BMWs racing along at speed and certainly no idiots on motor bikes doing wheelies

Where everyone enjoyed their life and were truly happy. Wine was made by a man 3 doors down the street and the true Cypriot warmth and kindness was everywhere.

If by chance you had to pop out and needed someone to look out for your kids the neighbours were there for you without question.

Honesty and kindness were everywhere.

If a man came down the road towards you with 3 apricots in his hand he would stop and give you 2 of them.

How I wish these days would return but alas they are gone forever.
It makes me quite sad because that was the real Cyprus.

There were Merc taxi's though Geoff!

I agree, looking back before the boom and things were alot nicer then.

Here are some more I would like to add

1) No Eastern Europeans in the UK and there were more jobs back then
2) Zig and Zag!
3) Mr Motivator and Mad Lizzy - and there stupid outfits!
4) Mc Hammer and his crazy trousers!
5) The really annoying wassssssssup adverts for Budweiser.

Oh yes 30 years ago in Nicosia

Helens Bar, The Stake House, The 39 Steps, Regina Palace Hotel

John Odgers Bar was there even then and was actually popular (think I'm still barred)

Travelling to and from limassol on that single lane highway and getting stuck behind the 'gravel lorries'

A mezze was a mezze then and the Kokkinelli came free

Happy Daze
