I wanna hear from you. what are your experiences...what have you heard about how things are once you are in. Is it a waste of time, does bad shit go on in there? How would you feel if instead of 2 years you did only one. Do you think its fair or sensible to be taken away from your brain at such a critical time after working so hard at school to pass exams etc only to put your brain to sleep and expose it to extreme stress for two crucial years of your life. Do you think this gives women in Cyprus an advantage over you in the Cyprus job market once you do finish your studies. Curious.

Just finished mine (officially have 2 more months to go with jailtime but hopefuly most will be wiped out) Not a waste of time at all, I'm never going to forget my experience there. Although it might be because of the weapon selection I made to serve. Best thing for a guy to do after school. Have a bonding and a brotherhood with my guys that will last a lifetime. Looking forward to "civilian life".

I have never come across anyone that had a good word to say about it. Normally the youngsters do everything they can to get out of it. Its actually a great encouragement for the youngsters to get a university degree so they can serve as officers or sergeants, which is rather easier, which probably explains the reason for such high percentage of education in Cyprus.

Most stupid comment ever heard, but well, it's a YFred post!
