Hello everyone, anyone know anything about Keele University and the town of Stoke on Trent? I am meant to start my studies there in September and am wondering what sort of place it is.

Google it! You will be able to find out the male/female ratio. I seem to think Nottingham has loads more females than males!

Hi Gregory

I stayed on their campus for a few nights during a conference, many years ago. The campus was pleasant and the student accommodation was good. If you can stay on campus I would generally recommend it, especially for the first year until you find your feet ... and it's always easier to make a big group of friends that way, which may help in getting a house-share for the following years.

I know someone who studied Physics there and they have a fantastic job in the States now.

The town was well served with shops and restaurants and had some oldy-worldy narrow streets with tiny terrace houses. Oh and they had olde-fashioned bakers on street corners selling a type of pancake (oatcakes - but not like the Scottish ones) - which everyone bought by the dozen. Very moreish with lots of honey :D

Is that where I first had Chip-Butty? :?

Sorry, can't help any more ... but it bumps up your thread for someone else to see ...

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your studies. What are you hoping to study, if you don't mind me asking?
