I stayed on their campus for a few nights during a conference, many, many, many, many years ago. The campus was pleasant and the student accommodation was good. If you can stay on campus I would generally recommend it, especially for the first year until you find your feet ... and it's always easier to make a big group of friends that way, which may help in getting a house-share for the following years.
I know someone who studied Physics there and they have a fantastic job in the States now.
The town was well served with shops and restaurants and had some oldy-worldy narrow streets with tiny terrace houses. Oh and they had olde-fashioned bakers on street corners selling a type of pancake (oatcakes - but not like the Scottish ones) - which everyone bought by the dozen. Very moreish with lots of honey
Is that where I first had Chip-Butty?
Sorry, can't help any more ... but it bumps up your thread for someone else to see ...
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your studies. What are you hoping to study, if you don't mind me asking?
Stoke is a buzzing place Gregory and you will have fun up there. Nice people, or Ducks, in the Potteries. Don't know too much about Keele apart from it has a few student bars!!!
Everyone calls everyone Duck in that part of the world......quack quack!
Duck?
It's the equivalent of Goumbare / Goumera (but being English it's not gender specific when used on people, so you can't say "Drake" for instance ).
In Scotland they say "Hen" .... but that's not used on men.
Have fun!
