I hope the above is not true as he could find it difficult walking in them.

This little money will help the less fortunate amongst us .
ps.the receipt has my name , Yiannis Miltiades Savvides as the donor for convenience .

very convenient, indeed.

Have you a problem with this ?

A gentleman was seen staggering along the promenade in Limassol just about an hour ago, he was accompanied by two very buxom looking wenches and all three seemed to be in the advanced stages of inebriation, the gentleman in question was singing the praises of his benefactor and (although very slurred) the name of 'Yiannis' was often mentioned as he stumbled along.

When he received a small reprimand from an offended passer-by, the said gentleman delivered a volley of abuse and it was thought (although difficult under the circumstances to determine exactly) that mention was made of a small windfall from some charitable source that the gentleman was in some capacity, affiliated to.

I do sincerely hope that the above account of events is in no way connected to the very worthwhile efforts of OUR Yiannis, the very thought of such an abuse of trust sends shivers down one's spine, particularly since we forumers have been subjected to deception (in the guise of charity) in the not too distant past.

As is often said, "There is no fool like an old fool", one could quite easily add "Especially when he has had a few".

A "cheapskate's" contribution to a worthwhile cause , a contribution that equals the man's self respect and integrity !!

By the way , are you aware that I have raised money for the T/C Cancer fund in Nicosia , The Tulip Cancer fund , and I personally visited and handed over in excess of £1000 .
Do you want to know how it started ? I will tell you.
A Greek Cypriot by the name of Fanos Droushiotis made an appeal on the CY forum for donations to the cancer fund . I responded sending £100 only to find out that he not only embezzled the £100 but he was also trying to raise more money. He is a G/C. I became very annoyed. I visisted the north for the first time , put my principles on hold , went to the Tulip cancer and made good their loss and doubled it.

Now since it appears that all you are concerned with is to attack me may I suggest that you start another thread not on this one which is to raise funds for Ayios Stephanos.

You may not have realised from the 7 minutes that we talked on the phone that I'm a man of the world as they say.
