You as an honest Turkish Cypriot have more chance of meeting with me, than Miltiades has as a hypocritical Greek Cypriot ....

M is no hypocrite and I am NO Honest TURK. Keep the pleasantries please.

I am off for some Fathers day pleasantries. I wish the same for you.

Yes, you are a true London Cypriot! Bugger off!

For the benefit of those wondering as what confirmation Oracle was referring to , I have PMed O and confirmed receipt of her donation , along with one other donation by Bill , I have asked my daughter / son in law to pass by Ayios Stephanos Home for children with disabilities and hand over the sum of Euro 500 . , which is Os contribution , Bills and mine combined.
I was hoping to have received a little more , but will carry on the efforts.
These children are all with disabilities and as I understand some totally forgotten.

I requested that the money is exclusively spent on providing children with a few treats , plenty of ice cream and sweets !!
An official receipt from the Home will be posted on this thread in due course.

A gentleman was seen staggering along the promenade in Limassol just about an hour ago, he was accompanied by two very buxom looking wenches and all three seemed to be in the advanced stages of inebriation, the gentleman in question was singing the praises of his benefactor and (although very slurred) the name of 'Yiannis' was often mentioned as he stumbled along.

When he received a small reprimand from an offended passer-by, the said gentleman delivered a volley of abuse and it was thought (although difficult under the circumstances to determine exactly) that mention was made of a small windfall from some charitable source that the gentleman was in some capacity, affiliated to.

I do sincerely hope that the above account of events is in no way connected to the very worthwhile efforts of OUR Yiannis, the very thought of such an abuse of trust sends shivers down one's spine, particularly since we forumers have been subjected to deception (in the guise of charity) in the not too distant past.

As is often said, "There is no fool like an old fool", one could quite easily add "Especially when he has had a few".

Really Floda, you are so funny.

I have unqualified faith and trust in our Milti's integrity as demonstrated by undeniable generousity in this very worthy cause, that's despite any poor judgement in choosing to live on the Wrong Side of The River here in London, England.

(Did anyone manage to get the phone numbers of the buxom wenches referred to above for further investigation?)

There is an old Zimbabwean proverb which (loosely translated) compares quite favourably with the well known adage:-

"God protect me from these men of integrity !"
