I think it's very encouraging that we do speak our minds and do speak to eachother. In many ways we are all "negotiators" at the "table" trying to put over our point but at the same time you can't help listening to other views. It's a two-way process.

Sooner rather than later we'll stumble on to some common ground where the hopes of all are met.

...so I voted yes.

We dont agree on anything and do not speak to each other all we do is disagree and try to ridicule and belittle posters on the otherside, which makes us feel better...this is very counter productive and only reconfirms we have no intention of agreeing unification.

Once everyone accepts, that a solution can only be based on True Democracy, Human Rights and International laws, the rest of our problems are then just details. The problem is, some do not accept this concept for a unified Cyprus, but would rather have the opposite to these principles. What these people are refusing to see is, now that Cyprus is in the EU and this is the 21st century, there can be no other way but follow the above principles. The EU will not have it any other way which we are part of, even if some Cypriots are willing to forgo the above principles. Therefore, the choice has already been made for us since 2004, whether we want it or not, that a unified Cyprus can only have a True Democracy, Human Rights and International laws. If you cannot trust these basic principles which is the cornerstone of the western society in which we live in, then how can you trust the opposite.? Before any other problems can be addressed, and there are many, first and foremost, the above basic principles need to be accepted by all if we are to move forward with any unification in Cyprus.

My dear VP, we all love you very much if only for your honesty. We all know where you're coming from, though few would agree with you in many areas, but when people speak honestly and plainly there's a chance some sort of truth will emerge.

What do we want? You want your security and a say in government and all I want is to have the option of spending some time in a Free Kyrenia. Neither of us are really asking for a great, unachievable lot, are we?

X and T left to their own devises will come to a settlement but perhaps not this year, the problem is Turkey.

Now you tell us how we can end this Interference from Turkey so that we can both get what we want.

Support the TCs to become financially independent of Turkey.

Of course we would accept if we had joint administration of Larnaca, Limasol and Paphos too?

I have just came across this report on the "Cyprus Mail" which supports my above post.

"THE EUROPEAN Commission is prepared to accommodate a solution to the Cyprus problem as long as it’s based on the principles on which the EU was founded, said Commission Vice-President responsible for Enterprise and Industry Gunter Verheugen yesterday."

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/news/main.php?id=46236

So, even Gunter Verheugen, the supporter of the Annan Plan is saying the above. Times have changed since 2004, and so must we.!

You have the 63% and you want 50% of Famagusta...slightly one sided..how about joint admin of all ports? or Famagusta and Larnaka?
