Just in case you think i imagine who my grandparents are, let me surprise you with the bit that the report doesn’t reveal

The old boy actually survived this attack ...yes he was a tough old man. He had his leg blown off and he died a year later aged 91.

Kifeas regarding that divine retribution post. Yes i also believe in it and here's an example, ironic that it also involves Grivas. Grivas who lead this attack got his. My grandfather also got his. As a young man Grandfather killed another man. He was a highway robber, and stopped a traveller to rob him. The traveller put up a fight and grandfather stabbed him. He spent some years in a British prison for manslaughter and was released on parole after about ten. Considering his crime he got away lightly. So like God took revenge on Grivas in his later years, He also took revenge on Grandfather.
Live by the sword die by the sword, what goes around comes around.

I really doubt that there is any family in Cyprus who has not had someone killed or tortured be they gc or tc – we really don’t need to make these things up.

OK I agree on the second part. On the first part I would say many not every family.Like many have been benefited from the other community. My own grandfather was an orphan (lost his mother very young) and was raised by a TC family. He knew better Turkish than Greek-in fact he could not read and write in Greek but could do so in Turkish, and all his friends were TCs at the Turkish sector of Nicosia. When the borders opened I even recognised the TC barber shop (by the road along the Nicosia walls) where he was taking me when I was a kid to have my haircut....

Is this barber shop still open? I'm wondering if it is my barber shop :-) He has been there for more than 40 years.
