YOUR ''ANNAN PLAN''

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby brother » Thu Jun 30, 2005 3:29 pm

And who made Grivas judge, jury and executioner? The man wanted one thing, power for himself. When he realised that Makarios was in his way, EOKA B magically appeared. Grivas was a man hungry for power, pure and simple and was prepared to kill anyone who was in his way. Yes he was a Greek patriot, but the worst kind of patriot, one who kills his fellow countrymen because they disagree with his perception of what the nation is about. I hope he's burning in the fires of hell as we speak.

Amen.

i was only talking about EOKA. eoka B was just a disguise for taking power. and grivas only killed people who objected to the idea of non-british rule

Im not very informed of the EOKA/B movements, cos im only young and have only really been told one side of the arguement.

I know EOKA was the main reason cyprus became independant, but wasnt their final goal to acheive enosis anyway? EOKA B to my understanding was the renewal of this, but just more violently etc...eventually leading to the invasion.

Whenever ive heard of Grivas, it has not been negative. My father constantly says he was an 'idiot' basically cos he was the reason we had the '63 troubles etc. and eventually the invasion.

It really gets me when i hear cypriots praising him and others etc... especially when it is over such a sensitive issue. It also really pisses me off when cyprus celebrates things like 25th march/OXI day, which are obviously nothing to do with cypriot history. Its like they dont want cyprus to be different from greece. Grrrr....we are a seperate country for gods sake. Ahhhh!!!! its so annoying :x

Cyprus needs a good overhaul of what it is and where it wants to go.... cos at the moment its not right.

couldnt agree with you more..the current administration is blinkered and reeks of the 1960s style we are the majority bullshit, you would not believe "RoC" are a European nation with European values which encompases 25 nations, the only reason they are putting up with the EU membership is for the sheer fact that it would have brought a solution but yet again they are wrong and have been referred back to the UN. Wheres the compromise and reaching to our brotherc crap so frequently used by the Communist Christofiyas, is he alive?? or has he retired and left the stage to Papa Tassos ??? a soft no to obtain a yes what dilluted shit and you guys buy it line hook and sinker.

Dhavlos,

I appreciate your way of thinking about the benefit of removing old politicians but ...

What do you think about the mentality of new generations? Do you agree with me that a significant proportion of GC under 30 are ignorant against TC?
