Its a bit late in the day for me!! Could you please explain, "trying to take control over all of cyprus "and "partition". What does that mean?

Whilst Tr remains outside the EU and has expansionist claims on CY and refuses to respect CY sovereignty etc etc ... well we're more likely to see pigs flying over a frozen hell.

I'm not getting a positive vibe within this thread so far!

Let's get hypothetical. What about a US/Israeli/UK seizure of the Eastern Mediterranean undersea oilfields?

If Cyprus ends up with a healthy oil/gas industry then I'd say it's safe to assume that the US will shift its support of Turkey to Cyprus and the RoC will exploit it to the max to remove the invader.

The regional geopolitics will have changed once again until the next "eureka" such as a super-duper alternative energy source invented in Turkey as an example, rendering the Cypriot oil/gas advantage useless...

This would be the second BIG headache for Turkey in trying to have any control over Cyprus if vast deposits were to be found in Cypriots waters. First being the EU membership for Cyprus, of course.!

Hopefully there are more answers to this question than 'When hell freezes over'.

Only when Turkey realizes that the ottoman era is over and that Cyprus is no longer its backyard or the soil of a rock in the sea on which to exercise its megalomaniac and illegitimate geostrategic interests, but it is instead a separate sovereign country with its own people, rights and merits, just like any other independed UN and EU member state. Only then we may talk business with Turkey, and perhaps even become allies.

With such a logic in mind, it won't be too long before we have another (and final this time for life on earth) World War. How old are you?

Considering you try to portray yourself on this forum as an authoritative figure worthy of respect for your opinions and arguments you sure have an unpleasant streak to you, Kifeas. Do you consider yourself to be an arrogant person?

Here's my reasoning. I pose a perfectly reasonable question to initiate the thread. Within the first fifteen or so responses there is absolutely no indication of a positive response, but plenty of evidence of the usual resorting to inter-community bickering and point-scoring. I try to get the thread back on track by posing a scenario, admittedly fairly far-fetched but also possible, which I make clear is hypthetical. You choose to respond with a sensible comment, but then can't resist posting again with your implied insult. Rather immature Kifeas, rather immature. How old are you?

What kind of hypothetical situation should I suggest - an alien invasion intent on destroying all humankind?
