1. We have the magnificent red deer, the monarch of the glen, and you have the sheep, or is it a goat, the shy and timid moufflon!
2. We shoot and eat the red grouse, a bird capable of 80 mph on the wing, and you catch sparrows on glued sticks then pickle and eat 'em!
3. We have the silvery Atlantic salmon, a wonder of nature with its ability to navigate the ocean and return to spawn in the river of its own hatching into life, and you have the sardine!

What? No more red-Mullet?

4. We both share the same patron Saint (Saint Andrew)!
5. Both Scots and Cypriots wear skirts (or is it the Greeks?). Does the Vraka count?

The Scots have more spunk than the GC's

Another thing in common, is that you both are capable of betraying your own.

(Campbells & the rest, versus Akel v EOKA)

We're highly adapted to a climate producing only 9 days sunshine per annum so what do you expect?

Pas de touché! 8)

1. The magnificent red deer, shyness to man out-bred, are insultingly farmed for the butcher!
2. The red grouse are intensively reared for sport - with Grouse-beaters instead of glue.
3. The mercury-ridden Salmon, snacking on our sardines, are pumped full of antibiotics (yup, on fish-farms) to keep them alive in the polluted North Sea.

Yup, Scotland is ahead ... :D

The term Spunk may refer to:
aussie slang, meaning hot, sexy, referring to the person with an x-factor.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spunk (the rest is irrelevant)

Bit sad really - this thread was only started because O married a Sweaty sock herself!
she has become the William Joyce of CF.

More similarities:

While Scots were living in caves and painting their faces blue, Cypriots were sculpting marble statues and constructing temples until they were blue in the face.

We both produce distilled spirits that can blow your brain apart, but you'd only really want to indulge in those from one of the nations. 8)

We both like to package offal and make it into a delicacy (us, haggis; you, sheftalia), though ours is known as the 'chieftain 'o the puddin' race'! :P

Cypriots and Scots love their deep-fried national delicacies - Cyprus has kalamari and loukoumades, and Scotland pizza and Mars bars!
