That is true. So now the Greek Cypriots in order to distance themselves from the responsiility of the devastation caused to Cyprus are playing the 'innocent'.Oh, well, whats new.

What happens now, is that we should all gather our wits and sort this mess out. No point arguing ad infinitum, 'you started it first' and all that c--p.

The Greek Cypriots did not support the Greek military dictatorship - infact nor did the Greeks. What happend to them? They were thrown into jail. Whats happend to the Turkish military dictatorship? They are worshipped like gods by the narrowminded nationalist majority of Turks. I hope that puts things into perspective.

Lumping everyday innocent citizens and a government together as one is all very easy and convenient when you are fishing for propaganda.

You are right that the majority of Greeks were not supporting the Junta regime in 70's.But i believe that Turks in mainland Turkey has a reason to support the generals. They feel that ,if generals put aside, then very soon Saria law will apply in the country. If you look carfully the most educated Turks and particularly these living in West Turkey, are hese supporting more the generals. I think that the fear of Islam guide them and not any Nationalist feelings.
