These are the losers we GCs have to negotiate with!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

(...just like previously only a defeatist/loser would deem to negotiate away even 9% of Cyprus to the Turks ... an unacceptable proposition for Cyprus-EU now!)

Nai re kourabiye, "Cyprus is officially a Greek speaking island" and "has already been adopted/accepted by the EU!" You only forgot though that according to its constitution, which has also already been equally adopted by the EU, it is also officially a Turkish speaking island. Kourabiye!

So why was Turkish not adopted as an official EU language if it came with the territory/constitution of Cyprus? Or is it "lingua communautaire" suspended, like the RoC administration is suspended over the Turkish occupied north?

Further to the above:

Member States of the EU
Cyprus
Year of EU entry: 2004
Political system: Republic
Capital city: Nicosia
Total area: 9 250 km²
Population: 0.8 million
Currency: euro
Listen to the official EU language:
Greek, English

http://europa.eu/

... Only a loser/defeatist would now negotiate on behalf of the Turks for the EU to adopt Turkish, once the illegal occupation is forced out, just to satisfy a small minority (40,000 TCs).

I find it very interesting how the old CTP crowd has changed tune after coming to power. If Denktash and Co. had said something similar, these very same people would have slagged them off big time. Having a state that cannot even buy toilet paper for it's schools and role playing the triumphant victor of a war, do not exactly go hand in hand.

P.S: Kif. this dude Ercakica as far as I can see just got pissed off by Karoyan and used his balls instead of his brain in to end the article. Much like what you have done in your opening post.

Umit: if I were wearing a hat I would take it off for you right now. I appreciate your honesty

thank you

On another note I say to Greek speaking Cypriots close the crossing points and Turkey the winner can provide employment to the 7000 TC winners who cross over every day to exploit the Greek Cypriot generosity.

Your generosity is overwhelming. What would we do without it?

The one thing everyone fails to realize about the ROC losing a war is that nazi germany had no choices nor did japan. How can someone be defeated when they have the opposition cornered and wishing for a solution

DIKO leader Karoyan must remember that it is the victors who put their conditions at the end of wars. The Americans, British, French and the Russians laid down their terms for Hitler’s’ defeated Germany. It was not Hitler or the Germans who dictated to the allies after the Second World War.

So, it is going to be Turkey’s and the Turkish Cypriot’s terms for a solution. Let them take the magnanimous hands of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots for a lasting peace in Cyprus and the region.
Throughout history, losers did not only accept conditions of surrender but have, also, to pay for reparations and losses.

These are the people we GCs negotiate with. I suppose Talat, to have this idiot as his spokesman, also shares his above views. Now, what shall we say as GCs? Would we be wrong to say that if these lunatics still believe that they “won a war in 1974” and they are entitled to dictate the terms of peace, akin the allies against Nazi Germany, let’s fuck Turkey’s EU accession, once and for all; and let them also rot in isolation until the hell freezes, or until they disappear as a community from the face of earth? Are we wrong and unfair to make such thoughts? Are these people so far detached with reality, that they still believe they are the winners of a war, and we GCs the losers? How much of a pathetic and desperate loser someone has to be, to utter the above nonsense?

Good morning Vietnam!!!I am shouting this since the first day in this forum but many of us (G/cs) living in moon, looking for brothers and sisters in occupied area to solve the problem. If you loose a war then options asre only two- accept this factor and sign the surrended agreement or stuck on your values and targets until the invator's cost of occupation became unconfortable. The second needs some other politicians and some other Cypriots who have put in the corner for 40 years now.

Epsilon, the only people I know that were "put in the corner for 40 years now," are those Eoka Betases that carried the coup against the elected government of the RoC and who, as soon as the Turks begun invading Kyrenia coasts, took all the Kalashnikovs of the NG and went hiding in the Troodos mountains -some even making “souvla” under the pine-trees; leaving the 18 year olds of the NG alone to face the invaders with WWI Martini Enfield rifles! Are these the people you talk about, that were "put in the corner for 40 years now?"

No my friend. are not only these trators who put aside in Cyprus.Generally (after 1974) we use (in Cyprus) to confuse patriotic actions/policies with fanatics and trators. Junta of Greece organized the coup and the conclusion was that we have to change Ethnicity and targets because whatever refers to Hellenism mixed up with junta regime and EOKA B.The result will be a no grounded policy without targets without scope.Just solving the Cyprus problem on financial factors basis. Is anybody in G/c socity who can refer to Hellenism without immdly to be declared as trator and cooperator of Junta and EOKA B? Even he born several years after these facts he can not refer to his Ethnos because we have mixed up everything in this Island and we consider that we can re-start the Cyprus history from zero, after 1974..

... and, for the record, the coup was carried out by the National Guard not EOKA B' and although some EOKA B' units were indeed formed, these units did fight in the front and got a great deal of the action And again for the record, the coup was organised by the Junta of Ioannidis. The Papadopoulos junta, which Ioannides essentially overthrew, was a staunch supporter of the intercommunal talks.
