Piratis keeps talking about the responsibilities of TCs against RC that needs to be fulfilled before TCs can enjoy their full rights in RC. Unfortunately things are not that simple. Let me explain why.
RC, as it stands today, is a Hellenic Republic. Many GCs consider the rights given to TCs in RC too much. I heard from many GCs how it is unfair that a mere 18% minority can get so many rights in RC. So, there's an acceptance problem in GC community about the status of RC. Most GCs find it hard to accept RC as it is supposed to be.
If you don't believe me, then explain why the laws passed are published only in Greek. Or explain why Sener Levent received a letter from the government (explaining why he couldn't be a candidate for Euro elections) in Greek and not in Turkish.
You ask TCs to acknowledge and fulfill their responsibilities against RC, but the main question is are GCs ready to see TCs in the Republic? The answer is not a clear yes and no.
Read this carefully. If TCs were made welcome in RC since 1963, we wouldn't have had Cyprus problem. The problem is after 1963, TCs were constantly excluded from RC. You might say TCs wanted to leave RC as well, and it might be true but we can't ignore the fact that TC exclusion either by themselves or by GCs was welcomed by the GC community as well. At least I didn't see any "democratic" GCs worrying about the exclusion of a large percentage of the people of Cyprus.
And calling TCs traitors since they worked against RC by not standing against the structure in the north is the biggest sign of your ignorance. In 1974, TCs had no choice but accept the realities. Many TCs moved from south to north, not because they wanted, but they needed to in order to survive.
Here's a little personal story. Many grandparents' village was under GC occupation and my gradfather was a prisoner between the first and second leg of the Turkish intervention even though he was old and he had no military connection. Of course these people were happy when the Turkish army arrived. Now these people are traitors because they wanted to live? Give me a break.
It's true that there are some TCs who suddently got rich by GC properties in 1974. Those are the people who don't want any type of solution. Yes they are thieves and traitors, I agree with that! But most TCs got GC property since they left their property in the south. And my generation had no choice anyway. How can we be traitors?
Traitors are those who don't want people to live together, who want the status quo to continue both in the north and the south, who want RC just for themselves, who want a seperate state and ignore GC rights on their lands and so on.
I know these won't change your mind because you know everything. According to you:

So either way, TCs are traitors. But one question is how can you expect Talat to recognize RC that has been Hellenic republic since 1963, and the people who control it had no intention of making it a truly bicommunal republic as it was supposed to be?
TCs gave up on taksim or seperate state, but you still did not give up on controlling the whole island and ignoring the minority. Cyprus problem is not simply an "invasion and occupation" problem. The reasons that brought "invasion" and the reasons that feeds the current structure in the north and keeps the two communities apart are important. We should talk about those instead of blaming the other side for everything.
Of course, Talat and TCs want a truly united Cyprus. That's what TCs voted 65% for. Our intentions are clear. We want a solution based on the Annan plan. So in that sense, why is it weird that Talat says he doesn't recognize RC?
Your intentions are not clear though. Some GCs want no solution, some don't want Annan type solution, some are scared, and so on. Besides why is OK for Papadopoulos to say that he's defending the Hellenic rights in Cyprus as the president of Republic of Cyprus? I guess you'll say it's OK because he's defending his people. Well, Talat is defending his people by saying "I don't recognize RC" as well.
Everybody is trying to optimize here and there's nothing else TCs can be after the referandum. We said a big fat YES for union and GCs rejected. What are we supposed to do? Beg for a solution? Or forget everything and go back to RC? We did our share, now GC community should tell us what they want.
