Political talk used to stay in the correct forums, meaning the general chat was a general chat forum, and not a war with handbags flying around everywhere, arguments on who has the biggest and best handbag.

Things certainly have gone downhill since those days....

It has changed Hazza that's for sure. Things can be fun on here....join out football thread.

Too much handbags yes!

A rather bedraggled looking chap emerged from the confines of the tent and treated me to a barrage of verbal abuse the like of which would put Miltiades to shame (well perhaps not) and I was gobsmacked.

I apologised of course for my intrusion on the chap's privacy but pointed out that a 'Tent' was something of an unexpected encounter in such salubrious surroundings.

The chap informed me that he was protesting about the treatment he had received from a builder in Cyprus, he supplied me with details which would enable me to research his complaint and I subsequently did so.

Thus, a few days later, I found myself member to this delightful set and may I say that it has been (thus far) a particularly enjoyable experience.

Thank you Dwyer O'Conor (the chap in the tent) I would never have had the pleasure of encountering Miltiades had it not been for you.

Good old days I remember them well

God it was like banging your head against a brick wall with that pri*k
But wasn't his name Connor O Dwyer?

Whatever happened to him ..Is he still boy scouting on the grass outside the embassy?

What a blast from the past young Floda

Glad to know that you remember the days of which I mentioned and YES, the chap's name was actually Conor O'Dwyer (my mistake but I did mention that I was slightly inebriated at the time of the encounter).

There is a 'Gentleman of the Road' in the vicinity of St James's Square, he is quite a knowledgeable chap and I made an enquiry through another of his associates for an update on the situation.

It would appear that, like Napoleon Bonaparte, the inclement weather spelt the end of Conor's campaign and only the tattered remnants of his once proud canvas headquarters remain fluttering in the trees that adorn the area.

Whether Conor, age, element, or a combination of all three are responsible , is a matter which is now under investigation by the local authorities who are somewhat perplexed by the site of such optical pollution, it would seem that several tree surgeons have been engaged at the expense of the taxpayer to rectify the situation, naturally, the authorities are greatly concerned at such a waste of taxpayer's money.

As the aforesaid 'Gentleman of the Road's' associate remarked, "Cor blimey !, wot wiv that geezer dossin' in 'is bleedin' tent an' all the beer cans frown all over the bleedin' gaff, it's enuff ta giv us poor bastards a bad name, ya no wot I mean ?"

End of part one............................more later. (as and when). 8)

Since Conor saw fit to attack the integrity of the entire Cypriot business and political structures, since he took it upon himself to embark upon a crusade of anti Cypriot conjecture merely because he apparently failed to recognise that Cypriot businessmen are not as gullible as he had imagined, since he organised a small army of rabble-rouse rs and troublemakers even to the extent that he sought to accost the political representatives of various nations, since he verbally abused the father of his alleged antagonist (an innocent man of undisputed integrity) I think it is perfectly in order to revive some comment. LEST WE FORGET.

Perhaps you were one of his army of supporters, if so, let justice prevail and if he is successful with his campaign, good luck to him.

Meanwhile, please consider the levity in which these posts have thus far been ascribed to as mere 'Games' that we play.

So, this is just your 'tit for tat' approach? How mature!
I am sure a person like you would 'NEVER FORGET', so why not just drop your 'comedy routine' Floda?

You know the severity of your posts, so please do not undermine the intellect of other forumers!

I am sure justice will prevail. Why not be patient.........................?

Kindly do not allow your 'status' to cloud your judgement in matters concerning the unacceptable affront of the person we are alluding to.

Are you aware of the fact that he invited a man's Son, to write down that his Father "Is a F**ck**g C**t" (I use the asterisk since I am sure you have much experience in deciphering the meaning  ) with specific instructions that he should be sure and deliver the message?.

This offensive item was published worldwide and is an indication of the level of intellect possessed by the complainant.

To a Cypriot, such an outburst could result in serious consequences and, should such information be disclosed in a Cypriot court of law, the offender may well rue the day he mouthed such obscenities.

I fully realise that there are some who would regard such insult as acceptable (rarely among Cypriots) but personally, if I was subjected to such a direct attack on MY Father, law be damned, I would spill blood.

As to the matters in dispute, I think you will find that a certain amount of exaggeration on the part of the complainant will come to light, his abusive and disrespectful behaviour to those he proposed to do business with, may well contribute to his own downfall.

That he should condemn the entire structure of Cypriot Lawful, Legal and Business practices, taking into account the damage he has done to the public confidence in such, I am more interested in the outcome of the 'Counterclaim' than the ridiculous claim itself.

As to your own interest in this matter, perhaps you are sympathetic , if so, read through the numerous blogs available and form (as I and many others have) your own judgement, disregarding your record breaking achievement of course.

In conclusion, I feel perfectly justified in reviving interest in this matter since I take a very dim view of any that act in condemnation of my own country and it's integrity.

"LEST WE FORGET".

I am unsure what you mean by my 'status'!

I am not a supporter /sympathiser (though I did read about it when it first came onto the forum). I just think it unjust that you ridicule this person further as he is obviously not around to defend himself. (Are you truthfully saying that this is the Cypriot way? I think not)

Your end does not justify your means IMO! You seem to have become the jury, judge and hangman! This is the TWENTY FIRST CENTURY and I am sure the courts will serve justice, so again, I ask you to desist from this line of postings!
