Prime-minister Derviş Eroğlu has said that he wishes to sign a ‘new financial protocol with Ankara’.

Eroğlu was reported as saying “According to current calculations 100 million Turkish lira will probably do us.” (Şu anki verilere göre belki 100 milyon TL işimizi görebilir).

 its the occupied kiosk of Cyprus.

Some people hire BNP Paribas to underwrite a Euro Bond issue in London and others figure about 100 million Lira will "do" them.

So indirectly the IMF is funding the "trnc". Looks like they could sort the Cyprus Problem quite easily by leaving the cheque book at home.

Indeed Zan thank Turkey for reducing the number of T/Cs in the occupied part down to less than 70 thousand !!
The isolation is the result of the continued occupation of a part of Cyprus by a foreign power .The entire world considers Turkey to be an occupying power and come to think of it so do many T/Cs.

We will go along with your ideas for a minute!!

We have two occupiers. Turkey....By what you have to say and the "RoC".....One gives us millions every year so that we can survive and then there is the "RoC". They prefer to starve us out and have been doing that since 1964. For what...Again lets stick with your ideas.....Democracy.......The democracy exhibited since 1964 is the expulsion of the TC people. The stripping of their political and personal rights in the name of your democracy. The torturing and starvation of an entire people long before Turkey set foot on the island. Is this the continued isolation that you are talking about??

The hospitals of the RoC are available to all Cypriot citizens including the T/Cs . The welfare system likewise . The courts are there to defend the rights of all cizens regardless if T/C , G/C or otherwise with the added advantage of EU endorsement of judjements throughout the Europen Union. T/Cs can benefit from all entitlements that other Cypriot citizens enjoy.
The ludicrous position that Turkey has adopted on non recognition of the RoC is not only laughable and absurd is bloody stupid ! The RoC whether you or anyone else objects or not is a full member of the UN , the EU and participates in all international events as CYPRUS .
Insisting on the ridiculous continuation of "a fools paradise " and pretending that the occupied part is Independent is pure fallacy.
We need to unify our Island but we will never achieve it as two separate nations , its mad , its sick , there is but one Cyprus as there has been for thousands of years .
The isolation of the occupied part is entirely the making of Turkey and its absurd demands on Cyprus. Trying to lift restrictions such as the fiasco recently of direct flights is another example of Turkey's " isolational " position.

I'm sure Turkey will pay the 100 million, because what choice do they really have. As an occupying power, it is one of their responsibilities. The question is of course, just how many fake TC citizenships will they ask in return for the settlers from the "trnc". 10,000 more.........15,000 more...........20,000 more.??? This is designed to make the True TC's further insignificant in future elections or referendums in the north. The settlers now being the overwhelming voting majority in the north, are much easier to control by Turkey than the True TC's when the time comes for Turkey to cut a deal with the RoC.!
