How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

The probability that I’ll start taking advice on such matters from a half-baked "Cypriot" mongrel is ZERO.

halil said Turkish Cypriots did not come into existence until 1960 ... We are discussing deep roots here ... and not just latter day political groupings.

MANIPULATER ORACLE :!:

Halil says he doesn't care what was happened 9000 years ago ..... he does not care at all what was happened 400 years ago .....

As a Turkish Cypriot he cares what was happened in 1960 ..... he cares what was happened between 1963-1974 ..... he cares what is happening now .....

Cyprus was independent country in 1960 .... It was the Cyprus got her own independency .... it was the time that conflicts will finish in this island .... there was a country called Cyprus .... There was a country with one flag and single citizanship for TC's ,GC's ,Cypriot Armanians ,Cypriot Maronites and for others ..... Your ignorancy spoiled it . Your hunger destroyed it in 1963 .... I know you will start to find all known excuses again..... for those resones Halil says i don't care for all .....

Despite all that rubbish halil, with which you try to blur and backtrack ... you did simply say you did not become a Turkish Cypriot until 1960 ...

I strongly suspect a major part of me was Cypriot pre-1571. My grandmothers nickname was a geographical location in Southern Cyprus Possibly Latin origin. I wish there was a ay I could find out - apart from DNA studies.

You're confusing a political construct with ethnicity. Apart from in the minds of foreigners and bolsheviks, there is no separate Cypriot ethnos: there are Greeks, and turks. Latins, Armenians, arabs, Russians, etc who also live on Cyprus (even if they are citizens of Cyprus) are un-assimilated migrants, and quite clearly belong to their own ethnos.

Think of the natural evolution of the European Union - if things go according to plan, national borders, laws, currencies, and institutions (perhaps even military ones) will slowly disappear; less and less what makes a Greek will be the Greek nation-state, but rather the Hellenic ethnos. Ditto for Cyprus, except of course there is no distinct Cypriot ethnos, ergo, you're either Greeks or Turks!

And no, mispronouncing and misspelling παπού does not make you any less Greek and any more Cypriot.
