OK.Thinks now are clear.You are just an other one Cypriot who minded stuck in London's 60's. Your problem is that missing your Ethnicity in the low wall houses in UK ,you have also lost the changes (corrections) on your mother language(dialog).What you are missing in UK is that Cypriots in the Island get out of the most of Turkish culture which was affected them fo 4 centuries and re-discovered their rutes/You have to update yourselves and rejoin us.

For the simple reason I am much more clever than you to understand how someone can support Turkish propaganta or not.

The Turkish position is that there is no such nation as the Republic of Cyprus but instead there are two nations one Greek Cyprus and the other Turkish Cyprus.

You are still,maybe because of tzivana, confusing Nation with Ethnos.If Turks target is to solve the problem on Cyprus Ethnos basis, Athens give a sht on the problem, then where is your difend line clever man? Defend is on your rutes, culture, education,mentality. If all these are same-under your famous Cyprus Ethnos, with Turks of Cyprus and settlers, then you just became a piece of Ankara policy.Pls study Turks way of negotiations and get lessons. Actually, in his outright idiocy, Miltiades is correct (though he doesn't know it): "kolaouzos" is the only non-greek word in the saying. Apparently it comes from the Turkish "kιlavuz" meaning pilot or guide.

Seriously, now the actual subject of the topic is wrong. It's not Cypriot identity that is a myth but the idea of Cypriot nationalism or of a Cypriot nation.

I'm definetely Greek, and at the same time I was born in Nicosia, I support APOEL and Panathinaikos, I have an X profession, I have finished Y school, and I belong to Z generation etc, so I have a Greek, a cypriot, a Nicosian, an APOEL and Pahathinaikos as well as an X, Y and Z identity all at the same time. However I belong to the Greek nation, full stop.

So the idea of a Cypriot identity is not a myth. It's a reality just as the Cretan, Athenian, or Dodecanesian identity is. Someone can identify oneself as Greek and Cretan at the same time, just as I am Greek and Cypriot at the same time. However we are talking about two separate kinds of identity, the one is national the other is regional.
