The Cypriot identity is a myth

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Because you do not. Please reconcile tc and GC culture. Please explain how they are one and the same.

How many times do you need to be told that Greece under the junta was not Greece? Obviously this will go on ad nauseam - for whatever reason you have an axe to grind against Greece, ok, that's your prerogative. You are perfectly free to go on merrily with what's left of your life thinking that turks are your friends and that Greece is your enemy.

My ethnic background derives not from Greece but Cyprus . As a G/C who considers Cyprus as THE motherland , I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH JUST BEING A CYPRIOT , it identifies me as deriving from Cyprus not from Greece or in the case of T/Cs from Turkey. Cyprus has existed for thousands of years why deny its identity .

I speak as an outsider who knows both communities quite well, and I consider that there exists a unique Cypriot culture which is shared by Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

GC's have nothing to do with the G in the GC, yet everytime you list the Cypriots you take special care to name the Armenian Cypriots. DO they have to denounce Armenia entirely as well? DO they have no connection with Armenia?

Because the Greeks who live in Cyprus have no identity distinct from the Greek identity (or as we have previously discussed, a local flavour of the Greek identity, just like in many places in Greece).

If you were so isolated and so different and have existed separate from Greece for so long, the language, predominant religion, and cultural & social mores of the Greek Cypriots would've diverged drastically from that of mainland Greece and her closer islands. But in fact these indicators of ethnos (ok, they're not the only ones) have not changed so markedly. Ergo, you're a Greek!

Do you care to elaborate?

Ok, since you have your own government you're a Greek Cypriot marginally more than a Cretan is a Greek Cretan. Let's not forget, Crete had its own government for a little while back in the early 1900's.
