Please read my reply to SuetoniumPaulinus.
You are asking for too my evidence from me man. The issue is too old and I dont have anything saved on my HD. Perhaps if you make a search at hri.org with key words "Ladies mile" you can find the proof you want.

M@C, I will have a look at the site you mentioned. If I should find something compelling, I will post it here and I will also communicate it to my MEP, in person if necessary (I'm going to Brussels in a couple of months so I'll collar the bugger there!)

Sorry my friend, I discuss many issues, I am not a Politician who keeps records of everything, I am not doing a Phd either. :D

I have two CDs full of articles, references, video etc. etc. You never know when it will come in useful, plus if I need to justify something in my thesis I'd be gutted if I lost something... :D

hey guys/gals ( ?)

i havent read many of the posts, but a really interesting book is called
"The Cyprus Conspiracy" by brendan o'malley and ian craig.....

its really interesting and does not seem to have a bias(im GC)... very interesting ideas expressed and explained...makes you think cyprus looks 'pathetic' as the 'big-boys' pawn.

It's certainly one of the better 'Cyprus conspiracy' books and doesn't contain the rancid bias that many of them display. However, merely to depict Cyprus as a pawn in a greater game doesn't totally ring true to me. I accept that Cyprus' destiny is not entirely of its own making, but many of the incidents blamed on foreign powers in such conspiracy texts totally absolve Cypriots (from both sides) of blame. Let's just say, it will be interesting when Makarios' personal papers are released for study by the Archbishopric in a few years time (unless they're sealed in perpetuity, which will be an interesting admission in itself).

This is because these events are too recent and do not allow you to see them objectively. If you look at our whole history you will see that Cyprus, a small island, was always controlled by the "big guys" apart from some glimpses in this history were we made the "crime" to revolt and as a result we either gained independence for a short while, or we were massacred. Recent history is not much different if you look at the big picture.

Thanks for your initiative Moose.
Unfortunately Cypriots only know how to cry when it's too late. :)
