Cyprus-Forum contributor, Paphitis, has left the forum

Postby Lit » Mon May 25, 2009 6:39 pm

This post is to get him to change his mind and come back.

Paphitis, a long term contributor to the Cyprus-Forum, decided it was time to walk away from this forum today.

Here is the comment where Paphitis stated he was calling it quits:

http://cyprus-forum.com/post-452065.htm ... ht=#452065

Paphitis has been a valued member of this community. Who says? I do! For one, his views are different from those oh so many GC Londoner's who frequent this forum and i think that is a good thing for this forum. A different perspective is good for the forum. I for one cant understand why more GC's from the States or Canada do not post here? Anyway, back to Paphitis...As you all know, he doesnt hold back on his views and tells you exactly what he is thinking. You have to admire the man for that. Paphitis is one who never shys away from "forbidden" topics. But is that a bad thing?

I may not agree with all your comments Paph, but i respect that you have an opinion and i have mine. You have made us laugh and at times you have made us think about things that some had not considered before. My brother, i hope you reconsider your decision...

To my fellow contributors of this forum......make your voices heard!

Should Paphitis reconsider his decision to leave?

1) Yes, he has contributed greatly to this site!

2) Yes, he cracks me up!

You are asking a question without offering the option to vote !!!
He , you could say , signed his own death warrant.Good riddance to an extremist Plonker who offered the forum the option to consider downing a civilian aircraft flying to the north part of Cyprus , who declared his wish to see the north part of Cyprus turn into charcoal grey , who took the mantle to defend the indefensible , and you have a chick to say he contributed much to this forum??
What exactly did he contribute mate , do tell us in plain English so that us thick UK Cypriots can learn something.
A wise person would consider as useful a contribution calling for the end of the Turkish occupation via political means and not via polemics thought of by a man with a child's brain.
He supposedly loves Cyprus so much yet NOT ONE SINGLE T/C has a good word to say for him , not the extremists and not the moderates. His support on this forum has emanated from like minded extremists and may I say brain dead irresponsible Cypriots.

I was going to say good riddance but having read the message of the Miltiades moron I really need to reconsider. If Miltiades disagrees so much with Paphitis, then Paphitis should surely stay in the forum. Or maybe Miltiades should just follow suit.

Yes. He should reconsider some of the unwise and undignified postings he has made; which throw his people into disrepute and have the potential to do tremendous harm to the cause of freedom and the reunification of his ancestral homeland.

He should treat the Cypriot part of his identity with far more respect and realise it is both a terrible curse and a wonderful privilege; an identity which demands certain standards and imposes certain obligations.

He should conduct himself in a manner that enhances the dignity of the Cypriot people. Everything he does to advance the cause of a reunited Cyprus should reflect the highest standards of honour, decency, integrity and morality.

For that is what Cyprus desperately needs of him; and of all her sons and daughters.

But I doubt he'll be able to do that, so good riddance.

Now, I wonder if there is a suitable maxim which may encapsulate such a sentiment ... :?

Paphitis is a fine and respected member of this forum

His postings may have not been to everyones liking but were always from the heart

A staunch defender of free speech and has in the past supported those who were also victimised for saying what they believed (those concerned will know who I mean)

I hope he returns soon - refreshed and actively participating again

Paphitis and Miltiades have very similar personalities… both easily irritable drama queens that can’t help causing a scene every do often. I wouldn’t be surprised if Paphitis is Milti’s long lost son…
