If we're the one that were wronged, the ones that believe in democracy, human rights and european values then there is no room for these slogans amongst us. We've got a political fight on our hands because we democratically chose a govt that wants to fight this in a political manner. If we wanted to fight this out in a war then sooner or later a candidate will be up there giving this option and we'll all have a chance to vote for him/her. At that point you can introduce any slogan you like to motivate the troops.

Milt, chill out, you'll give yourself a stroke.

I don't have any racist inklings towards any Turks but have taken on this sig because I happen to believe it is harmless and was used in the completely wrong context in order to ridicule or abuse another forumer.

Both Bananiot and Militiades blackmailed jamie_mac, that if he did not remove the sig, they will not post here again. I don't agree that Militiades should be allowed to get away with this and I therefore borrow the slogan, despite not liking it myself, in order to maintain the rights of freedom of expression against the suppressors.

If any TC is offended, then I apologise.

Paphitis, you are a prize prat. If my new slogan offends you then I'm happy, if it offends anyone else then I apologise.

No Jerry, that is just as bad. The best thing to do is to ignore their posts.

Fredoropoulos, it only means that Australians are not to be trusted, and since we are a bunch of ex cons as you say, then it may be accurate according to some people like yourself....

Bafidi and others has no idea about how such a slogans effects on the Cyprus problem .He has no idea how the those slogans are used by the anti peace lovers in Cyprus when they came out walls of the old Nicosia .How many days those slogans were in news or papers in NorthCyprus .how they can explain to TC's that there is no meaning .
I don't wanna use the word what they were saying .......It is a only rascist slogan ..... these slogans damages good will of the people too .

The slogan only means that Turks can not be trusted.

And since Turkey is occupying Cyprus, then what exactly is there to trust about Turkey or Turks? So the slogan can easily be deemed truthful by many.

Why should anyone be forced to remove this signature if this is how they feel? :?

What a first class jerk , so no one should remove this signature" a good Turk is a dead Turk " because according to this Plonker why should they if THIS IS HOW THEY FEEL !!
You are a bigger tosser than I took you for !!!

You would say that wouldn't you, my guess is you have difficulty with the truth. Personally I hate what Turkey, its army and Government have done to Cyprus but since I don't know most Turks individually I can't see how I can possibly hate them.

I don't hate Turks either. I only hate what they have done and are still currently doing. The phrase itself is not literal and is much less offensive than what you are making it out to be. But in any case, many people today have legitimate personal reasons for using it and it is this I defend.

Just because Miltiades, Bananiot or you don't like the phrase, it is no reason to abuse another forumer and labelling them as a racist when in actual fact you have absolutely no idea why the said individual felt the need to use it.

As to your slogan about Aussies, I really could not give a rats. If this is how you feel about Aussies, which you don't, then so be it.

It is Turkey who will never be able to gain our trust because of her racist occupation and ethnic cleansing.

I think jamies sig pales into insignificance when compared to that...

At least the sig is just a string of words and not a shower of bullets and bombs...

I second that, but surely the real problem is not just on this forum but that teachers are openly propagating these thoughts through the school system, according to one of these posters. It is openly used in the Army too which is an arm of the RoC. This must be tackled properly otherwise there is no hope for reconciliation; sooner or later it will fall apart again as in 63.
It is now easier then ever to deal with it. It is racist and racism is against the law in the EU. It is upto RoC to take them to task. Unless of course the RoC is riddled with people who are of that mind. We have no way of knowing. Actions speak louder than words.

Not only do you apparently believe that the only good Turk is a dead one but you seem to have difficulty in understanding them since Turks/Turkish Cypriots using this site are quite obviously offended by it. You may be aware of the more subtle interpretations of the slogan but most are not, perhaps you should qualify it by an explanation each time.
