I have no problem with separating some of the scumbags out and declaring the exact same slogan for someone like runaway for example, but to use it against an entire nation is racist either way you look at it.
If we're the one that were wronged, the ones that believe in democracy, human rights and european values then there is no room for these slogans amongst us. We've got a political fight on our hands because we democratically chose a govt that wants to fight this in a political manner. If we wanted to fight this out in a war then sooner or later a candidate will be up there giving this option and we'll all have a chance to vote for him/her. At that point you can introduce any slogan you like to motivate the troops.
Milt, chill out, you'll give yourself a stroke.
DT , Don't worry about Miltiades , been around the block a few times mate , however I will not deviate from what is right and proper and it is the way our democratically elected government has clearly charted , a political war withing the legal frameworks of all international organizations not least the formidable EU .
Can you imagine if a statement such as " A good Turk is a dead Turk "
found its way in the European Court of Justice presented by Turkish propaganda and supported by G/Cs would do to our cause ?
I know that amongst us there are thousands of Cypriots who would endorse my sentiments on this issue. I'm certain Kifeas , Piratis would agree .
The recent ruling by the ECJ has proved that our efforts must be focused on legality and realities not on hatred .
I don't think the ECJ cares about slogans Milt.
