I understand your hatred towards Turks. They were after all your masters for 400 years. If my mum, sister, daughter was f****d for centuries by Greeks I would feel the same hatred.

If so many turks were fucking so many greek grandmothers for so many hundreds of years, then why do turks still looks like mongoloids while Greeks don't?

Do yourself a favour James. Look for an image of the line up of the 2 teams in question. Copy and paste the picture on here for all to see and judge how different they look.

I think you'll find they look alike and they are both equally ugly (Greeks just a touch uglier)and can never be a match to us Cypriots (especially TCs). Go on do it and lets all see. Or are you all talk, just a bigmouth?

Here is a gorgeous turk λεβέντι but you will have to have sharp eyes, it doesn't show him for long...

the author, who claims to be “a Hellenic Nationalist living in New York City”

provides us with the following translation of the slogan being debated in this thread, which appears in a photograph of a banner that was displayed during a football match:

'The translation for the last pic is "The only good Turk is a dead one".'

So, he has got it wrong, has he?

The same blog informs us that:

“UEFA also fined the Greek Football Federation (EPO) 100,000 Swiss francs ($83,250) after incidents at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium during the 4-1 defeat by Turkey, which involved fireworks and missiles being thrown, racist banners displayed and a general lack of organization.”

It seems that UEFA also misunderstands this supposedly charming little folk saying which we are told is being misinterpreted and is not at all an incitement to genocide. Silly UEFA!

What's your point?

The slogan expresses an inherent belief that turks are bad. You might be shocked to learn that this is the most positive thing a large number of Greeks can say about turks. You don't blame a cancer patient for saying: "a good cancerous cell is a dead cancerous cell" do you? How is this any different?

Can you tell us more negative things they say.
Do you hear slogans like "Death to all Turks" or perhaps something worst?

Τους βλέπετε αυτούς;
Τους λέν' Οθωμανούς.
Τα αρβύλια μας θα φτιάξουμε με δέρματα από αυτούς

[Do you see them over there?]
[They call them Ottomans]
[We'll make our boots from their hides!]

If you have a point to prove, go ahead and find this photo, why should I prove your bullshit point for you?

I never said that Greeks are more attractive than turks, all I said was that turks look like mongoloids whereas Greeks don't. I have been around plenty of Greeks and turks, I myself know that my point is indisputable.

Kifeas has come to the defence of descency and Cypriotnes , where is Piratis , Nikitas , Iraklis , The Cypriot and many more Cypriots.
GR , true to form , the American hater has come to the defense of the disgusting slogan in question , there again he is by far the biggest Plonker . He supports the Taleban that yesterday the Pakistani commander in charge of operations against this evil referred to them as savages , a description that I used many many times.
Look at GR's credentials." WAR AGAINST TURKEY IS THE ONLY OPTION "
"WE CAN STRIKE DEEP INTO SOUTHERN TURKEY " THE ONLY WAY TO LIBERATE OUR LANDS IS BY BLOODSHED "
SHOULD AN AGREED SOLUTION BE FOUND THAT DOES NOT MEET WITH MY APPROVAL I WIIL START A REVOLUTION WITH 15 MATE "
WE CAN ENLIST THE HELP OF THE AMERICAN MERCENARIES , BLACKWATER"
"IF NEED BE WE SHALL USE SUICIDE BOMBERS "
Yes, all the above are what this Plonker believes in !!! Saw his photo too , what an ugly sod !!!
No wonder he dont want to meet me the coward !

Why? Are you in charge of recruiting new members?

No thanks, Kifeas ....

Personally, I like my Cyprus being independent and not tied to my Greece, other than, somewhat, culturally!

But, I can understand why you may wish to curtail my liberal views ...

Any schizophrenic's views can be classed as "liberal!" At least you have managed to avoid making yourself the laughing stock of the forum, by branding me too as an "enemy-Turk-loving!"

When Byron says

"Most fools here do not understand the Greek language, the slogan does not say death to the TURKS which most members believe it to mean."

he is wrong, that is my point; and you have helped to make it most succinctly. Thank you.

Quite simply, the slogan does not say "death to turks". Any assertion to the contrary is misinformed or dishonest.
