A MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Get Real! » Mon May 25, 2009 3:50 pm

And fancy Miltiades, the fanatic supporter of war criminals starting a thread about principles!

If this ain’t the biggest hypocrisy in the history of the CF I don’t know what is!

Why? Are you in charge of recruiting new members?

No thanks, Kifeas ....

Personally, I like my Cyprus being independent and not tied to my Greece, other than, somewhat, culturally!

But, I can understand why you may wish to curtail my liberal views ...

I propose NO CENSORSHIP OF SIGNATURES.

I think I'd like to second this idea from the man from north of Watford for the same reasons.

the author, who claims to be “a Hellenic Nationalist living in New York City”

provides us with the following translation of the slogan being debated in this thread, which appears in a photograph of a banner that was displayed during a football match:

'The translation for the last pic is "The only good Turk is a dead one".'

So, he has got it wrong, has he?

The same blog informs us that:

“UEFA also fined the Greek Football Federation (EPO) 100,000 Swiss francs ($83,250) after incidents at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium during the 4-1 defeat by Turkey, which involved fireworks and missiles being thrown, racist banners displayed and a general lack of organization.”

It seems that UEFA also misunderstands this supposedly charming little folk saying which we are told is being misinterpreted and is not at all an incitement to genocide. Silly UEFA!

What's your point?

The slogan expresses an inherent belief that turks are bad. You might be shocked to learn that this is the most positive thing a large number of Greeks can say about turks. You don't blame a cancer patient for saying: "a good cancerous cell is a dead cancerous cell" do you? How is this any different?

While an independent Cyprus would be fantastic in an ideal world, the reality is that some of the neighbours only understand the language of force (it being the only language they themselves can speak).

Can you tell us more negative things they say.
Do you hear slogans like "Death to all Turks" or perhaps something worst?

Posted of course under the heading of the month!

I understand your hatred towards Turks. They were after all your masters for 400 years. If my mum, sister, daughter was f****d for centuries by Greeks I would feel the same hatred.

If so many turks were fucking so many greek grandmothers for so many hundreds of years, then why do turks still looks like mongoloids while Greeks don't?

Do yourself a favour James. Look for an image of the line up of the 2 teams in question. Copy and paste the picture on here for all to see and judge how different they look.

I think you'll find they look alike and they are both equally ugly (Greeks just a touch uglier)and can never be a match to us Cypriots (especially TCs). Go on do it and lets all see. Or are you all talk, just a bigmouth?

As a symbolic protest in sympathetic brotherhood with our P and on Furtherance of The National Cause I will from time to time, as the need arises, be posting in reply to some posts from some members whilst I am defecating using this nice iPhone.

What was that Frederica?
