Resolution is very adjustable on osx plus it's merely a matter of command + to enlarge text while browsing. I forgot to mention all the fabulous included software unlike its windows bloatware counterparts. The operating system includes most languages as well as a gorgeous collection of fonts.
As a test of your system navigate to your applications folder select all and open them. Okay i know i am a mac evangelist that is what it does to you ! As far as learning a new operating system may people find it very intuitive and not a stumbling block rather a refreshing change. The truth is if you believe you can switch and learn something new then you will ! I have recently coverted 2 of my russian friends to the mac and they are more than happy. Okay work calls !!

macs are just annoying to use.. and their iphones they cripple everything

You can adjust resolution with all operating systems. But what is the point of paying for an HD Screen and then reducing its resolution? Also if you use any resolution on an LCD which is not its native resolution it will not display as good. LCDs should only be used at their native resolution. And you can keep enlarging the text while browsing but that is not convenient at all. why not just to get a lower resolution screen and avoid all these problems and also pay less!! Personally I wouldn't want HD resolution on anything less than 25".
