Yachts sailing for the 20th traditional Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally arrived in the Northern Cyprus yesterday.
The 59 yachts from more than 14 different countries are docked at the Kyrenia Delta Marina.
The rally, which kicked off on 24th April in Istanbul aims at contributing to the development of the yacht sector in Mediterranean countries.
Speaking to the Bayrak TV about the event, Gulden Plumer Kucuk who is in the rally’s TRNC organization committee said that the rally was one of several international organizations hosted by North Cyprus.
Meanwhile a reception was given by President Mehmet Ali Talat at the Kyrenia Castle last night, in honour of yachters.
Today, yachters toured historical and tourist sites in the North Cyprus.
The traditional ‘Pirate’s Night’ held every year within the framework of the activities of the event will take place at the Dome Hotel in Kyrenia this evening.
Yachts will be leaving the North Cyprus on Tuesday.
