Further, journalist Adrian Gatton quotes Chris Harrison, a senior Customs officer in Manchester, that Customs could not get at the Turkish kingpins because they are “protected” at a high level.

Sure! Paphitis, your Turkophobia will be the end of you!

1) Chris Harrison probably referred to the corrupt British police who have been exploiting and benefiting from the drugs trade! Some high level Customs and Excise as well as Police commanders (of former SERCS and other Drug squads such as the one in East London) were openly accused but retired early to avoid prosecution and publicity! Even now there are many rotten apples in the force in England protecting kingpins up North!

2) The main manufacturers/exporters of drugs from Turkey are KURDS! Often from the PKK active areas where they use the income to finance PKK. The whole of Europe and Interpol are aware of this and so are the US secret service. The sellers dealers in UK and Europe are all KURDS as well. But when they get arrested the western media do not hesitate to call them Turks!

3) There is no evidence or any proof that Turkish government supports any drugs trafficking! On the contrary they keep catching them by the tonne all the time knowing very well that the earnings support PKK activities. The only police or members of military who may help the Kurdish traffickers are of ethnic Kurdish origin themselves - but they are actively sought after!

4) As for black money or money from drugs YOU HAVE A BLOODY CHEEK! Ask your Russian friends who are the biggest account holders in ROC banks what the source of hundreds of millions of Euros (if not billions) is! Why the fuck would the Russian (mafia) want to keep so much money in Cyprus - especially if it is in a potentially war threatened area? The biggest money laundering in Europe has been happening through ROC banks. Try Gogle search and you will be enlightened more on the subject re bellofidis!
