Al Qaeda and indigenous netwroks inspired by religious extremism are specifically targeting western interests. This is the reason why the US wants to see Turkey become an EU member at all cost.
Will Turkey be the next Afghanistan? Should the coalition expand the war against terror from Afghanistan to Turkey?
And what will be the consequences for Cyprus if Turkey is officially declared a terrorist nation?
The Turkish state is against terrorism; but the Turkish deep state is for it. It doesn't need to
harbour al-Qa'ida: there is a recognised group/cell called Turkish al-Qa'ida (el Kaide Turka).
Unfortunately, the British-and-American-established Turkish deep state recreated its own birth, and used paramilitary and terrorist proxies to do its dirty work for it, so there is Turkish al-Qa'ida, Turkish Hizbullah, Nizami Alem (an Islamic wing of the Grey Wolves)...
The Turkish deep state also has Kurdish militants who it has forced to work for it instead, and Turkish agents who pretend to be Kurdish militants, so at least some of any Kurdish nationalist paramilitary campaign will be false flag operations by Turkish nationalist terrorists.
If you're that worried about the consequences for Cyprus, you should probably worry about what happens to places that launder money for terrorists: al Qa'ida launders its money on both sides of the island; Russian and Serbian paramilitaries, terrorists and mafia launder their money in southern Cyprus, as do Kurdish groups, Palestinian groups... Doesn't the U.S. freeze bank accounts and seize assets now?
