The present anthem is musically shite. It's also a PR gift to the Occupation Junta.

Replace it with something that has real meaning like The Souvla Song.

It can only be changed with the blessing of the Cypriot people.

Only by referendum can it ever be changed and while the TCs have that shite grafiti on Pendadaktilos, we should feel no obligation in changing our anthem.

We have made many concessions for them, and they have given is nothing in return.

Associating the anthem with the Junta is the most ridiculous thing I have heard...

If so, I personally interpret the "TC's" part below as referring to me and my generations before me, rather than those from '74 onwards. I've read many of Sotos's posts to know his feeling towards us.

The Turkish army is in Cyprus because the Turks want to expand against Cyprus. This is why they bring their Settlers on our island. Don't forget that the "TCs" are also settlers from the first Turkish invasion. Until we gain our freedom from the Turkish invaders there will not be peace in Cyprus. The Turks created the problem by invading our island and bringing their settlers here and the problem will be solved when their troops and their settlers are forced out of our island and they return to Turkey.

You ethnically cleansed 200.000 GCs didn't you? You think that ethnic cleansing is the solution don't you? You want to make Turkish the land you took from us don't you? You created the problem by coming to our island so if you are not compatible with us and somebody has to be relocated so we would be separated then those should be you and not us. After all it is you who want to be separated. Why should I move from the land that my ancestors lived for 3000 years because you want to be separate? If you want to be separate then you should be send back from where you came from so you can be with people that you are compatible with, with as much Turkish army and protections as you want and we will be free in our island. This is the only solution because we will never agree on a united Cyprus since you want to be separate.

The indigenous T/Cs have the same right to be in Cyprus as any other Cypriot.
The settlers are , as we know , in Cyprus as a direct result of Turkey's efforts to alter the demographics of our island following the Turkish invasion of 1974.The T/Cs are not exuberantly happy with the huge influx of settlers mostly from remote parts of Eastern Turkey. On the other hand neither are they completely confident that the RoC has their interests too at heart. A responsible government ought to be seeing to be doing much more in reassuring the T/Cs that their future on our commonly owned island is secure and that their human rights would not be undermined.

I'm not so sure any TC's hold official RoC jobs/posts, nor would I imagine any work in any sort of up and coming sector. More like they are employed as labourers and nothing else.
So passports, yes.
Healthcare, yes.

Jobs only for manual labour work no-one else is prepared to do. imo.

out of the 700 TCs that are permanent residents in the RoC, many have public sector jobs.

There are TCs that work for the CyBC, Department of Road Transport and Communications, and the Civil Aviation Department. I know this from personal experience...

Those TC's who are working at CyBc are not regular staff . Many times they have asked to CybC authorities to be regular staff of corporation it has been rejected all the time . Last Saturday i spoke with them . They said no one cares about them also most of the people in the corporation even does not speak with them Bafidi .

I don't know about Civil aviation or Transport and communication .
What they wants is parmanent staff statues like GC's has . Thats what the people who works for CyBc is asking . Parmanent JOB . not just show off that TC's are works in their .
