How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

You are right-even more!!!!Greeks forgot to sent them out as reaction to Greeks pushed out from Istanbul!!!!In Trace they have Turkish schools/education, and freedom of speach. They are living well and despite they do not accept the existance of other Muslims in the area (they consider all Muslims as Turks) they now want even a Turkish university. THIS IS WHY GREECE IS IN EU AND TURKEY WILL BAKE FOR CENTURIES TO BE A MEMBER.

Greece is in EU because Valerie Giscard d'Estaing pushed for it despite European Commission's OXI at that time stating Greece was not ready to be a member. Year 2009 and Turkishness is still a crime. Shame on you Greece.

I said this many times. The bigger problem of Turkish society is not the regime over their heads but the fact that many of Turks do not understand / not feel that they are not a democratic state. The word Democracy is still complecated in their minds since many of them never experienced such a state. They beilive that, because Attaturk dressed them like Europeans, they became Europeans in a democratic state. Of course in comparizon with Saudi Arabia Turkey is a democratic state but in comparizon with Europe is just an undercover dictatorship. the point is the majority of Turks to realize this and try to push their leaders to the correct direction. If Turkey became a full democratic state then the most of the problems we are discussing here will be solved immdly.

Greece is in no position to give democracy lessons to Turkiye. No religious rights for minorities. Not a single mosque in a EU capital. No Turkish associations in Thrace. Church makes politics. etc etc etc etc . You are right james. Unfortunately EU can't change Greece.

No problem.Continue to live in your microworld and lieve generals to guide your life.Lieve us, "The Europeans"(this is heart you) to live in our World and to have our generals in the army campes. You, as a third world state, can have your picture of the World.

Clearly you don't speak French. Mr. Bildt says we "Europeans" can't say Turkiye is not European when we "Europeans" have accepted Cyprus, an island nearby Syria, to EU. I love objective Europeans. :P

Although the definition of a “continent” is the principal land masses of the earth, when it comes to the outer edges that signify the border of the European “mainland”, it’s understandable that some adjustments will be made to accommodate like minded territories like the island of Cyprus, which happens to be predominantly Christian and “western” thinking.

Europe is not just a cluster of countries as this Frenchman seems to think, but also ones that have common cultural backgrounds and/or interests.

With one p[oint you missed: Cyprus is populated,in majority, by Greeks-you know these who started to build European values when your race was trying to find the way down from the mountains in Mongolia.

Major point you insist on ignoring: South Cyprus is in Asia. Tell EU to give citizenship to Greeks in Australia, Africa and America. Those great people crowned with European values should not be excluded. Why a special treatment for Asians? :?
