Yes, the country's Ministry of Transportation should endeavor to make the country a safer place to drive in.

You epitomize exactly what is wrong with driving in Cyprus, and why there are so many aggressive drivers with no regard for others on the roads - the "Stay the hell out of my way," in-your-face, screw-the-other-guy attitude that is prevalent in Cyprus.

I epitomise nothing but will adapt to the road conditions.

Our Ministry of Transport does make our roads as safe as possible, but it is still impossible to build motorways like the ones in England, because Cypriot cities are centuries old and have very narrow streets. You just can't knock down a whole city and start again.

Everything in Cyprus works perfectly, and the last thing we need are some foreigners telling us what to do.

I second that Moron !! You are a bloody foreigner how dare you tell Miltiades born and raised in Cyprus that he is a foreigner . I know you are 35 or so years old and spent about 60 days in all in Cyprus . You are an insolent and very rude young punk , how dare insult someone old enough to be your father . Learn some manners boy CHE MEN ANAKATONNESE MESTA RCHIDHIA TOUS ANTHROPUS.

cypriot drivers

Postby Robin Hood » Sat May 23, 2009 2:14 pm

Adaptation of your driving to suit the prevailing driving conditions is always needed, where ever that happens to be and Cyprus is no different. I have no problem with Cypriot drivers as I adapted my driving to suit theirs some 20 years ago. You have to remember that many tourists and holiday home ex-pats have only ever driven ‘back-home’ and believe their driving standard is the norm. So accidents are bound to happen.

If Cypriot drivers were to take into account that a large proportion of those driving on the roads of Cyprus, especially those with red plates, are absolute morons and don’t realise that Cypriot drivers have driving skills that you would never witness in any other country, then Cypriots could avoid the accidents caused mainly by these idiots stupidly sticking to the rules of the road, like they would at 'home'.

If the police are not interested in whether the Cypriot drivers live or die, why should it bother me? I have only one request............when your luck runs out, I will do all in my power to avoid you and I would appreciate you doing the same for me. Oh, and if you happen to end up wrapped round a street lamp, please excuse me if I don’t stop as body parts, soft tissue and the smell of warm blood makes me feel ill.

Miltiades I'm with you on this one the Cypriots are SHITE driver worse of all WOMEN drivers ,wouldn't give them a licence to drive a shopping trolley in PAPS, never mind on the roads. I will tell you a true story, my partner used to work for a big hire company in Pafos one day a Cypriot couple came in too hire a car , on asking who would be driving the man said both of us so my partner asked for their licences ( this is the best bit ) the woman turns to my partner and said quote;- I don't need a licence my husband has one ( FXXCXNG AIRHEADS ).

What a bloody shame your parents didn't teach you some old fashioned Cypriot manners like showing respect to your elders , still what can one expect from a guy who not long ago suggested that I , a grandfather and a respectable member of my community ,
You should be proud that you have have had the opportunity to travel so extensively , a few times round the world you said , Oh boy !

Which in your case, as you've made clear, means responding to irresponsible/dangerous/aggressive driving by driving irresponsible/dangerous/aggressive yourself. Yes, way to go.
