My only fear is a legacy of Tamil terrorist reprisals and Sinalese persecution of the minority.
The war is won, let Sri Lank now win the Peace.

I saw exactly the same thing when I was living in Qatar and knew many Sri Lankans there. I have visited labour camps where people live six to a room and Tamil and Sinhala Sri Lankans get on just fine together (along with other Sri Lankan ethnic groups like Muslims and Malays) while living in such cramped conditions. I was once at such a camp when the Sri Lankan cricket team was playing an important international match and the atmosphere was electric with Sri Lankans of all ethnic origins glued to a single television and all rooting for their national team.
The same thing seems to apply to Cyprus: ordinary Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots get on fine on a personal level; the problems start when you move into the political arena.
Very bold political initiatives are called for to cement this peace in Sri Lanka.
