Ok Z4 let’s calculate…

There’s around 2,000,000 tourist arrivals p/annum right?

Each spending €1,000 in Cyprus during their stay right?

2M x 1,000 = 2 billion p/annum!

Now, what percentage is that of the RoC’s 25+ billion annual income?

A staggering 8%!

12% of Cyprus GDP comes from tourism. This does not mean that 12% of foreign earnings, I can't find figures for tourism % of foreign earnings. 30% of jobs in Cyprus are dependent on tourism, the fact that many in this figure are from overseas may not be important to Cypriots. Cyprus earned C£2.600 million p.a. from tourism. (latest figure I could find)

GR do not confuse GDP with foreign earnings. Without the earnings from tourists Cyprus would have a serious invisible trade deficit.

For all the money, if any, which arrives with the likes of Z4 and his types (Miltiades) .... the resultant loss of prestige and collective I.Q. for the Island ... it's just not worth it!

Is that because tourists would no longer be visible?

Ha ha

Invisible Exports: the profits, dividends, interest, and royalties received from selling a country's services (including tourism) abroad

GR , tourism is by far the largest contributor to Cyprus's economy without which our nation would undergo severe financial difficulties.
All the hotels , Restaurants , general services would be committing suicide .We NEED tourism , we are not a manufacturing economy and neither are we an agricultural reliant economy. We are by far a service orientated economy with tourism at the helm .
