Coffee in Monte Carlo is a little less expensive than Cyprus, a meal in Innsbruck is definitely less so, and you can eat at chez Agnes in Paris for less than the people were charged for tea in Paphos.
There is a real danger for some tourist destinations (not only Cyprus) to be turned into sunny clip joints.
London offers some real value for money meals at some of the most exclusive venues .Take " Galvin at Windows " on the top floor of Hilton Park Lane , up to recently you could have Sunday lunch consisting of an amazing buffet followed by a selection of roasts with deserts to follow PLUS UNLIMITED CHAMPAGNE , the cost including VAT an amazing £49.99.
At the moment they have these offers London Hilton, 22 Park Lane, London, W1K 1BE
3 courses: £33
3 courses and a glass of Champagne: £25
3 courses for £19.50
3 courses & half bottle of wine £33
My favourite Sunday lunch however , when in Cyprus , is the Amathus Hotel where not only the food is superb , the views are fantastic. The charge used to be 40 euro including a glass of champagne .
Cyprus is and always has been the place I love the most , I can understand Hotel prices after all look at the position some of them occupy , so you pay for the ambiance not just the food .
As Nikitas said above visitors to such places as Monte Carlo do not like being fleeced any more than visitors to Cyprus .
Lets keep our tourism nourished , we have the weather the sea the clear skies and the very friendly locals , lets not drive them away with our pricing.
