As I always say, if I was Presidentess ... I would double the cost of all tourist centred pastimes ... :D

Less people, same profit!

Oh, Presidentess. What do you propose instead? Send the Sri Lankans back and let Cypriots take over their duties. Surely you must have 'made' alternative employment plans for the redundant catering/hospitality personnel? I am sure you have thought this over before you opened....................

4-5 six star resorts and we can drop the standard on the rest of the help...we'll even go ahead and hire some English. :D

Lana Image has already pledged to make Paphos the Capital city of Cyprus, just like it was when Cypriots were spreading their language, philosophy, culture and wisdom many centuries ago.
You don't stand a chance....

So it was the Cyps who in fact spread their culture. Was that a slip of your fingers?

It reminds me of a very exclusive restaurant we once fitted out. So exclusive it was it closed down 9 months on.
Tourism is the lifeline to most Cypriot businesses in Paphos as well as in all other parts of Cyprus. You cant just defend extravagant prices by saying it keeps out the " poor"
I have and always have had a taste for the good things in life. Wine being my passion followed by a civilized clean restaurant with good food , and not necessary nouveau cuisine. Spending a couple of hundred quid per head for a sumptuous meal and good wine was never a problem , although with the recession it now is , but being riped off and charged 20 euros for a bottle of plonk and a mediocre meal cooked by some untrained chef has never excited me.
We need not only to preserve our tourism but to increase it , and tourists usually want value for money .
Comments by O are irresponsible and may I say offensive to those whose livelihood relies on tourist revenue.

How can my opinion supporting the tourist industry to charge as it sees fit be misconstrued by even you as irresponsible? Market forces, old chap! Keynes and Malthus, Smith and even Marx to you ... have nothing to do with what I say or do! The Capitalists are free to do as they wish. Personally, I wouldn't live beyond my means nor moan if I could not afford to go to the Ritz (I can, but won't for other reasons) and am the most content person here because I can live (unwashed  ) in a timber hut, in the woods with no fridge ... just my books and an axe. :D

DONT TALK RUBBISH , HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU SAY THAT THE CYPRIOT TOURIST INDUSTRY , MEANING THE HOTELS ,THE RESTAURANTS , THE BARS TAXI DRIVERS ETC CAN CHARGE WHAT THEY LIKE !!!!
Do me a favour , study a quick course in business management where you may learn that supply and demand is still the basis for setting prices nor DEMAND and then supply.
When the tourists have long gone what we do once again is blame the Anglo Americans !!!
Ps . You have never been to the Ritz afford or not its out of your class !!
