Hello Oracle and Co..... Im not getting on the bandwagon ...Im just curious. I paid 2,300 euros for a four metre sat dish. Is this normal?

The con merchants at Paphos will be sooner rather than later be wishing that they run their business properly and not as some shark entrepreneurs.
The rip off merchants ought to weeded out , they are causing immeasurable damage to our tourist industry.
My son and his lady , two weeks ago had a fish meze for lunch at one of the old port restaurants . Their bill , 180 euros . ! A couple of beers and an ice cream . !!
Wait till I get there

Just charge more so that the clientele are more "refined"

Cypriots are like this all over the island.

We stayed in a hotel at Kyrenia a few years back and my mum made a phone call to the USA and spoke for an hour and a half...a few days later I went to check our bill on the TV and saw infinite zeros on the screen.

We ended up paying £700 for a phone call!

It's like this all over the tourist world. Eat/drink at touristy places and expect tourist prices. We all know the saying "eat where the locals go" don't we?

(The last time I visited Paphos Harbour was in 197x, had a beer and probably had change from a sellini.!!)

Applicable to establishments with at least one Mitchelin star , but to a seaside resort where you are served by amateur waiters from Georgia its a rip off.
