Talat Karpasia Visit

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby suetoniuspaulinus » Mon May 18, 2009 9:09 am

If any new plan goes to referendum that does not clearly divide Cyprus int two regions then I do not believe the TC's will accept it. Not after AnnanV. Expectations are very high.

TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat has said that the restoration work at the Apostolos Andres Monastery will start soon.

President Talat made the comments during a visit to the area where he also informed villagers of Dipkarpaz, Yenierenkoy and Ziyamet area of the progress taking place at the Cyprus talks.

Speaking with the villagers of the Dipkarpaz Area, the President said that restoration work of the Apostolos Andreas Monastery had not taken place due to disagreements between the Greek Cypriot administration and the Greek Cypriot Orthodox Church.

‘In some Greek Cypriot papers they claimed that the Turkish Cypriot side had prevented restoration work from beginning. This is not true we only wanted a few months so we could move the people who are living in the area so they don’t get disrupted by the work that will be taking place.

That’s the actual real reason behind my visit’, said President Talat.

referring to the latest development that have taken place on the Cyprus issue, President Talat said ‘if we can begin the give and take period as of the end of summer, then we will get good results’.

He also expressed his view that it would be better for the solution plan of the Cyprus issue to be put to a referendum before the end of his term in office.

‘Who ever started the process should finish it. We are progressing at the speed we desired at the negotiations’, added Talat.

Referring to the issue of opening a border crossing at the Yesilirmak village President Talat noted that from the very beginning the Turkish Cypriot side had been asking for 2 things.

‘Firstly we asked for the free movement to and from Erenkoy and secondly for the free movement of fuel to the area. These issues are still continuing to be discussed’, he added.

Why does this artlicle not say that the free flow of fuel is meant for an army base in Kokkina?

Seconed one is not that much important DT.......They can carry the fuel via sea again for the army ........

I know some people wants to return back to their homes and they want to repair their homes again . First part is very important they will have connection with TRNC . As u know ............ They have to take electricity to Erenköy as well for civilians use . Yaaaa arguments start from this point too my dear DT ...... u scartch my back side i scartch your back side ...... Give and Take .......
everything works differntly in Cyprus .
cast a suspicion on xxxxxxxxxxxx
distrust xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
under a cloud river does not xxxxxxxxxxxxxx etc...... etc..........

You want us to power with electricity and allow fuel to cross over into a millitary enclave of yours? If I were President Halil I'd arrange for a nautical blockade to it as well so that those soldiers and their superiors starve.

Only in Cyprus does the invader have the nerve to get pissed off when the people it invaded do not feed its army with electricity and fuel

Such expectations from a similar fascist enemy were satirised by Noel Coward ...

Don't let's be Beastly to the Turks!

We must be kind
And with an open mind
We must endeavour to find
A way-
To let the TCs know that when the war is over
They are not the ones who'll have to pay.
We must be sweet-
And tactful and discreet
And when they've suffered defeat
We mustn't let
Them feel upset
Or ever get
The feeling that we're cross with them or hate them,
Our future policy must be to reinstate them.

Don't let's be beastly to the Turks
When our victory is ultimately won,
It was just those nasty Nazis who persuaded them to fight
And their Bedlum and Bark are really far worse than their bite
Let's be meek to them-
And turn the other cheek to them
And try to bring out their latent sense of fun.
Let's give them full air parity-
And treat the rats with charity,
But don't let's be beastly to the Hun.

We must be just-
And win their love and trust
And in additon we must
Be wise
And ask the conquered lands to join our hands to aid them.
That would be a wonderful surprise.
For many years-
They've been in floods of tears
Because the poor little dears
Have been so wronged and only longed
To cheat the world,
Deplete the world
And beat
The world to blazes.
This is the moment when we ought to sing their praises.

Don't let's be beastly to the Huns
When we've definately got them on the run-
Let us treat them very kindly as we would a valued friend
We might send them out some Bishops as a form of lease and lend,
Let's be sweet to them-
And day by day repeat to them
That 'ethnic cleansing' simply isn't done.
Let's help the dirty swine again-
To occupy Asia Minor again,
But don't let's be beastly to the Hun.

Don't let's be beastly to the Turks
When the age of peace and plenty has begun.
We must send them steel and oil and coal and everything they need
For their peaceable intentions can be always guaranteed.
Let's employ with them a sort of 'strength through joy' with them,
They're better than us at honest manly fun.
Let's let them feel they're swell again and bomb us all to hell again,
But don't let's be beastly to the Hun.

Don't let's be beastly to the Huns
For you can't deprive a ganster of his gun
Though they've been a little naughty to the Armenians, Greeks and Kurds
But I don't suppose those countries really minded very much
Let's be free with them and share the B.B.C. with them.
We mustn't prevent them basking in the sun.
Let's soften their defeat again-and build their bloody fleet again,
But don't let's be beastly to the Hun.
