Disregarding the fact that George Galloway made the statement which YOU find so foolish, are you advocating that a fair election CAN be conducted under the conditions described ?.

Bearing in mind of course, that the significant points outlined in the statement are, that the nation being either forced or cajoled into holding an election, is likely to be under severe duress precisely because of the military presence that created an atmosphere of civil unrest in the first place.

Kindly answer (or at least attempt to) the question without your usual tirade of abuse, it is most unbecoming for a man of your age that you are so prone to rely on such filthy language in order to press a point, also, it denotes utter ignorance that you should HAVE to when writing.

God only knows what base levels of filth your foul tongue is able to descend to in general conversation, I thought you mentioned that you are a Grandparent (God Help the Children).

5 U.S. Soldiers Accused of Killing Afghan Civilians

The brutal, premeditated killings of three Afghan civilians — allegedly at the hands of American soldiers — are expected to be detailed in military court near here this fall, potentially undermining efforts by the United States as it tries to win support among Afghans in fighting the Taliban.

The cases, which accuse five members of an Army Stryker brigade from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, near Tacoma, of deliberately ambushing three Afghan men with grenades and rifle fire this year, have also raised questions about how the Army has handled them.

Members of Stryker Combat Brigade in Afghanistan accused of killing civilians for sport

AT JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WASH. The U.S. soldiers hatched a plan as simple as it was savage: to randomly target and kill an Afghan civilian, and to get away with it.

For weeks, according to Army charging documents, rogue members of a platoon from the 5th Stryker Combat Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, floated the idea. Then, one day last winter, a solitary Afghan man approached them in the village of La Mohammed Kalay. The "kill team" activated the plan.

One soldier created a ruse that they were under attack, tossing a fragmentary grenade on the ground. Then others opened fire.

PROMISES, PROMISES: No amends yet for Abu Ghraib?

PROMISES, PROMISES: US cannot document any payment to detainees for abuse at Abu Ghraib

Fending off demands that he resign over the Abu Ghraib prison scandal, then-Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld told Congress in 2004 that he had found a legal way to compensate Iraqi detainees who suffered "grievous and brutal abuse and cruelty at the hands of a few members of the United States armed forces."

Soldier Describes Murder of Afghan for Sport in Leaked Tape

Specialist Morlock was accused by the Army of taking part in all three killings during his deployment in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province, as The Lede noted in a prior post on the killings. Other soldiers in the unit told investigators that the accused ringleader, Staff Sgt. Calvin Gibbs, collected fingers and other body parts from Afghan corpses after the killings and said that he had gotten away with similar killings in Iraq.

Australian soldiers charged with manslaughter of Afghan children

Australia's top military prosecutor said three former Australian soldiers will be charged with manslaughter in relation to a raid on a compound in Afghanistan that left five children dead.

Brigadier Lyn McDade, the Director of Military Prosecutions, said today that the special forces soldiers face multiple charges including manslaughter, dangerous conduct and failing to comply with a lawful general order.

The charges relate to a February 2009 raid on a compound in southern Uruzgan province that was believed to harbour Taliban insurgents.

Six Afghans, including five children, were killed, and another two children and two adults were wounded.
