War Crime Allegations Threaten to Harm America's Image

Five US soldiers are facing charges of war crimes, suspected of deliberately killing Afghan civilians. The unfolding scandal threatens to harm America's image abroad and derail President Barack Obama's efforts to draw a line under the abuses of the Bush era.

He used to boast about all the "stuff" he had done in Iraq and about how easy it was for an American soldier to get away with almost anything in a war.

US, Iraqi Troops Kill Civilians in Fallujah Raid

Another indication that the US War in Iraq is not over: they are still killing civilians. A joint US and Iraqi military raid against a neighborhood on the outskirts of Fallujah left at least eight people dead, including a number of civilians, and wounded an unknown number of others.

The power of installing treasonous puppets...

Iraqis outraged at payout for US victims of Saddam

BAGHDAD // Iraqis have reacted with disbelief and anger after their country agreed to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation to American victims of Saddam Hussein.

The package, worth $400 million (Dh1.5 billion), will settle outstanding claims by US citizens who were caught up in the Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait two decades ago. Hundreds of Americans were held as human shields by the former leader during the run-up to the 1991 Gulf War, with many saying they were tortured and subjected to psychological trauma. They have since sued the Iraqi government for financial damages.

Meet some more American War Criminals...

2 Go On Trial In Virginia For Afghan Killings

Jury selection is scheduled to begin in Virginia in the trial of two former defense contractors charged with the deaths of two Afghan nationals.

The trial of Justin H. Cannon of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Christopher Drotleff of Virginia Beach begins Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Norfolk. It's expected to last two to three weeks.

The former contractors for Blackwater Worldwide are accused in the shooting deaths of two Afghan nationals in Kabul in May 2009. Drotleff and Cannon have said they opened fire on a vehicle when it sped toward them.

The defendants were in the country to train the Afghan National Army.

Drotleff and Cannon face up to life in prison if convicted.

North Carolina-based Blackwater is now known as Xe (zee) Services,

How Much Is an Iraqi Life Worth?

One of the most morally obscene aspects of the Iraq War has been the cost-benefit analysis in which war proponents claim that the war has been worth the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people killed in the operation. Since the U.S. government has brought democracy to Iraq, the argument goes, the deaths of countless Iraqi people, while regrettable, has been worth it.

I imagine that there are more repugnant positions, morally speaking, but for the life of me, I can’t think of any. In fact, ever since the invasion of Iraq I have found it absolutely astounding that Christian ministers all across the land have exhorted their congregations to pray for the troops in Iraq, knowing that such troops were killing Iraqi people. Would they have done that if the troops were committing abortions in Iraq?

Milti, why do you keep knocking the guy?

He is merely highlighting atrocities against other human beings by powers who claim to be better than Bin Laden.

Would you just like them to suffer in silence so that you can have the luxury of sleeping in a cosy bed at night. This has nothing to do with supporting anyone.

If the GCs were suffering similar fates, wouldn't you want it made known to the world??

Come on, most of the stuff GR posts are those written by international journalists or humanitarian organisations, they are not even his own words.

I think you are out of order Kupie.

Cheers
